Also, I apologize for the poor quality and occasional puffs of air on the mic, I was using my phone for this.
If you made it to the end, congratulations and thank you for listening through until the end. Hopefully I was able to get my point across better than I could normally with the texts. Hope you all got a better understanding of the existence & importance of objectivity in art. Ciao

I really despise seeing RWBY fanatics using Monty as a tool to deflect criticism. Saying critics, "insult him" or some shit. Yeah no, criticism isn't directly insultive.
Also, insulting Monty? Tell that to those that turned his last baby into a complete joke & shit-show.
And yes, I'm well aware that Miles & Kerry are just as much RWBY's creators as Monty, but those 2 can still go off & create more...Monty sadly cannot & therefore RWBY is the last remnant of his legacy. It has such incredible potential...but it's in the hands of utter incompetence
And I know many of you will say this is just me being an asshole or targeting Miles & Kerry when other factors & people were involved. Let me say this...
If these 2 are the ones we praise when things go well, why shouldn't they be the ones we admonish when things go to hell?
#CJs2Cents: Subjectively, I love Demon Slayer and find it great & very enjoyable, especially the anime itself; which I feel is where the series shines the brightest. However, if I'm looking at the story & characters from an objective perspective...they're both just "okay".
There's little to no worldbuilding, and the demons themselves don't really have much effect on the setting around them outside of those who know they exist. I'm not asking for everyone in the world to know of this secret war, but you could at least have the government be aware.
Hell, we barely understand how these supernatural monsters came to exist or have their insane powers and appetite for humans from the source that turned Muzan all those years ago. We just pretty much just gloss over that whole thing when you think about it.
Instead of Salem showing up, Atlas has 3 days before her arrival & all our heroes are divided. And so, V8 will be a battle & race between former allies as they all try desperately to prepare for the nightmare to come.
In this volume 8, James isn't a genocidal tyrannical lunatic either. Rather, he's still the same empathetic James we've known him as all this time, but you see him no longer holding back on making really tough-but logical-calls, yet we still see how these trouble him.
Add in some unexpected faces joining James' ranks like Qrow, Pietro and even Ren, along with the two sides fighting each other, grimm activity steadily increasing more and more as Salem draws nearer & Cinder, Arthur, Tyrian and Neo still being thorns in everyone's sides.
I'm saying this because RWBY claims to be very supportive of the LGBTQ community, but when you look at it...is it really? Whether you like what RWBY does or not when it comes to LGBTQ, you can't deny that it gives us mainly crumbs in comparison to the "straight" side.
I know many people use the excuse of "they're taking their time/properly developing things" when it comes to LGBTQ romance, but love is love no matter what way you spin in & any attempt to say the different labels effect love would be one just admitting to their own elitism.
In other shows/fictional media, we've had LGBTQ romance that was handled with the same level of exploration, development and public displays you would find in their straight relationships, so it is possible to truly do it equally. But somehow RWBY gets a pass on not doing it? 😕
Imagine if we could've changed who got thrown into the void at the end of the Atlas arc. I would've had the following members from the Party fall; Weiss, Yang, Emerald & Nora.
Jaune & Ren would logically be in Vacuo helping with the evacuation, Ruby would survive to both deal with the "death" of her sister-like Winter-& truly deal with the ramifications of her actions in Atlas. Blake would now have to cope with losing Yang & Weiss before her eyes>
and it would allow for some potential development and even discussion into just what the hell is going on between them. Emerald honestly needs a bit more meat to her redemption arc, so let's have her get dropped into the void directly by Cinder, with her seeing Cinder do it.

So episode 7 of volume 8 has just been released and I must say...I don't know how I feel about this episode. I wouldn't call it good, yet at the same time I wouldn't call it bad either...this is a mixed bag. So I guess I'll just go in order.
So Salem's invasion is finally underway and her grimm army are swarming and overpowering the Atlas army. While I do like the panic and destruction the grimm are causing and seeing them apparently slowly overtake the army, the writers have made the Atlas military seem so poor.
Then there's the citizens of Atlas just chilling and walking around like it's a normal day, until the flying grimm get into the city...I'm sorry but what?! Even if you want to say they're confident in their military, you'd think they wouldn't be so carefree & out in the open! 😵
