DEBUNK—Medical experts and the CDC said it’s not biologically possible for the COVID-19 vaccine to “shed” or affect unvaccinated people, despite what anti-vaccine activists claim. Thread 🧵 #COVID19
politifact.com/article/2021/m…
2) The misinfo about “vaccine shedding” has had real-world impact. One FL private school recently told immunized teachers to stay away from students, citing the baseless claim that unvaccinated people can get menstrual irregularities simply from interacting with vaccinated people
3) There is no evidence that the COVID-19 vaccines cause fertility or menstruation problems in people who get them, let alone in their close contacts, experts said.
4) The notion that the COVID-19 vaccines can be "shed" like the coronavirus itself "is a conspiracy that has been created to weaken trust" in the vaccines, said Christopher Zahn, vice president of practice activities at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

☮️PEACE NOT WAR: “We urge you not to cave to [Trump’s] failed approach to Iran,” 50 officials wrote to @POTUS. “We have seen the net effect of that: A larger Iranian nuclear program and a greater risk of war with Iran.”

2) During the 2020 presidential race, Biden harshly condemned former President Donald Trump’s Iran policy, specifically his “reckless” decision to abandon the deal, the signature foreign policy achievement of his predecessor Barack Obama.
3) After pulling the United States out of the deal, the Trump administration reimposed brutal economic sanctions that had a devastating impact on ordinary Iranians, including depriving them of medicine and other basic humanitarian aid,

FAKE REMEDIES being peddled across India to “protect” against #COVID19. It’s total nonsense.

As both an epidemiologist and a firmer nutrition researcher who looked at the study, there is no evidence to support benefit of Chyawanprash. It’s pandemic profiteering. My thread 🧵 Image
2) it’s horseshit nonsense.

Chyavanprash is a cooked mixture of sugar, honey, ghee, Indian gooseberry jam, sesame oil, berries and various herbs and spices. It is prepared as per the instructions suggested in Ayurvedic text.

But study showed no effect.

Her arrival on April 2 marked the end of a 2,500-mile journey that began in Guatemala in February, progressed over land through Mexico and then ended in a hazardous raft trip across the Rio Grande into Texas…

Unusual rise in rare fungal infection in #COVID19 patients, especially with diabetes—can lead to blindness.

"Diabetes lowers the body's immune defences, coronavirus exacerbates it, and then steroids which help fight Covid-19 act like fuel to the fire” 🧵
bbc.com/news/world-asi…
2) “Inside the surgery, an ear, nose and throat specialist was already at work on the patient, a diabetic.
Dr Nair had inserted a tube in her nose and was removing tissues infected with mucormycosis, a rare but dangerous fungal infection.”
3) “This aggressive infection affects the nose, eye and sometimes the brain.
After his colleague finished, Dr Nair would carry out a three hour procedure to remove the patient's eye.
"I will be removing her eye to save her life. That's how this disease works," Dr Nair told me.

Let this sink in—While India hospitals plead for life-saving oxygen and countless #COVID19 patients die, 🇮🇳 Prime Minister @narendramodi is pushing ahead with a major $1.8 billion parliament new construction—including new mansion for its Dear Leader.
cnn.com/2021/05/06/ind…
2) “The decision to continue with the project in the capital, New Delhi, has infuriated the public and opposition politicians, who have pointed to the apparent disconnect in pouring millions into a construction project amid its worst-ever public health crisis.”
3) Many have questioned the timing of the project and said that the money could have been used to build hospitals or oxygen plants. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticised saying Modi should put people's lives at the centre amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis google.com/amp/s/www.indi…
