watching captain america: winter soldier as part of my MCU education and while i find captain america in general somewhat loathsome, jingoistic copaganda, chris evans is simply a ludicriously beautiful human and watching him do silly martial arts is a joy

i need some sort of condensed summary of what the heck SHIELD actually is

shield seems very dubious and terrible to me

theres also the fact that every bit of "evil" or "compromise" is inherently extrinsic (german ideology, russian assassins) while the Cap stands for the Good Ol American Way lol
