This was my experience as well.
In discussing my plans/decision process to not have children, some older ladies I knew from the dog park confessed to me, privately, that they either regretted having kids at all, or did not particularly like their now-adult kids. @JillFilipovic
Interestingly, in discussing this decision with people I knew who had kids who were still under ~14, I got a whole lot of “you don’t know what you are missing, you will never know love like this, you will regret not having kids,” and many other Stockholm-syndrome-sounding cliches
Whereas, the older women I know who made a conscious decision not to have kids, all seemed rather happy with how that worked out for them, when I was making this decision.
I’m 40 & thus far, I have no regrets about not having kids. all my high school/college friends have kids...
... but most of my friends I’ve made post college do not.
I’ve found that the women who told me they regret having kids are willing to share their regret with someone who already made the decision to not have kids-perhaps because they feel they won’t be judged for it by non-moms.
Anyways, Happy Mothers’ Day to those who decided to keep the human species going, it’s a hard job and I’m glad I was able to choose for myself not to do it.

And also: espionage is not journalism, nor is propaganda.
Hacks, shills, agents of foreign powers, & fuckwits like Assange, John Solomon, Ben Domenech, Hannity, Greenwald, et al, are not journalists.
Do we want to know what this means?
