Today is 25th Baisakh according to the Bengali calendar. The birthday of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Not just a Nobel Laureate or a poet whose compositions hv bn adopted by India,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as National Anthem; but a poet of extraordinary profundity. Pranam,Pranam
Facts not widely known: Gurudev’s elder brother Satyendranath was the first Indian in the ICS,allotted to Bombay Presidency. In the house of a friend of his at Bombay the poet met the Maharashtrian girl,Anna Tarkhade. The poet’s first love. He was 17 then. Anna died prematurely.
Satyendranath’s wife Gyanadanandinee imported the Gujarati style of draping a saree and made it popular among Bengali women.
That India’s National Anthem and Bangladesh’s ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ were composed by Tagore is fairly well known. But Sri Lanka’s anthem
“Nami Namo Namo Sri Lanka Matha” was composed by Ananda Samarakoon,a Sri Lankan disciple of Tagore at Santiniketan with music inspired by the poet.

Kailash-Dilip-Shiv-Arvind (KDSA) foursome have dragged the names of our respected Prime Minister and Home Minister through mud and have sullied the name of the biggest political party in the world. Sitting atop Agarwal Bhavan of Hastings (W Bengal BJP’s election headquarters)
and 7-star hotels they have distributed tickets to incoming garbage from Trinamool. Now faced with abuse from party workers they’re staying put there, hoping the storm will blow over.
These people have heaped the worst possible insults on ideologically driven BJP workers and
devout Swayamsevaks who had been relentlessly working for the party since 1980s. Now those very people are suffering the worst persecution from Trinamoolis. But KDSA won’t go to their rescue, won’t even exhort them to fight back. Instead they are trying to draw comfort from

Film and TV actors who never had anything to do with politics, let alone BJP,were handed tickets by BJP’s election management team. Parno Mitra (Baranagar),Srabanti Chatterjee (Behala West),Payel Sarkar (Behala East). These women were so politically stupid that they had gone on
a steamer trip with TMC’s playboy-politician Madan Mitra less than a month before elections and shot selfies with him. All were roundly defeated. What great qualities were these women possessed of? Kailash Vijayvargiya,Dilip Ghosh & Co must answer 🙄🙄🙄
It must not be forgotten that a BJP electoral ticket carries with it substantial money for running the election. Or for other purposes!

Yesterday a bunch of Mamata-paid busybodies did a lot of Nautanki in Kolkata Maidan in protest against the death by firing by central forces of four young men called Hamidul,Samiul,Maniruzzaman and Noor. The SP of Koch Behar district stated that these four, among others, had tried
to snatch rifles from CISF personnel and force their way into booths. The local villagers had also started a rumour that the forces had kidnapped a boy when they had merely taken him for treatment when he had fallen ill. Mamata has, predictably, termed the shooting of
these four as ‘Genocide’-which,given her knowledge of English, is excusable. But what is not is that she had, over the last few days, trying to instigate her supporters to gherao the central forces. This incident is seen is a direct consequence of her instigation.
Incidentally,

Stumbled upon a very interesting fact yesterday.
Three great sons of India had gone to the Ramakrishna Math and Mission to take sanyas, the life of a monk. In all these cases the Math-Mission saw that these young boys were meant for a different kind of service to the nation
and gently refused or discouraged them. All three rose to dizzying heights. Here is their story.

The first was Subhas Chandra Bose. He went to the Varanasi Ashram. Swami Brahmanandaji gently refused him sanyas. He is our revered Netaji!

The second was a former professor...
of zoology from Varanasi,a young Maharashtrian man called Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar. In his case he succeeded in becoming a Brahmachari under Swami Akhandanandaji and stayed in the Sargachhi Ashram in Murshidabad doing famine relief work despite discouraging. After

Quite often I am asked by newspersons, "Why is West Bengal so important to BJP; or, why does West Bengal need BJP"?
Here is the brief answer:
1. Since the death of Dr. B.C.Roy in July 1962 the state has had 5 years of stagnation under P.C.Sen, (1962-67), 5 years of
anarchy (1967-72) and 5 years of listless only-talk-no-work under S S Ray. Thereafter it has been governed by governments which were anarchic, povertarian, anti-prosperity, anti-industry and Luddite (people who oppose industries for fear that they will eat up the
jobs of manual labourers). Basically these were Leftist governments, by whatever name called. If any party intends to check its downward slide and rescue West Bengal from this morass (we believe BJP does) instead of simply being in power and doing politics, it has to take a

In 1889 on this day was born a child in Nagpur named Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. He grew up,came to Calcutta to study medicine and came in contact with Bengal revolutionaries, which made him think. He came to the conclusion that Hindus needed to organize themselves as HINDUS (and
not as Brahmins or Shudras,Bengalis or Biharis). So he founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with just 12 boys and became its Adi Sarsanghchalak aka Doctorji.
That little sapling that he planted grew and grew. In 1937 he was joined by a young Brahmachari from Ramakrishna
Mission,a disciple of Swami Akhandanandaji called Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar who was anointed the next Sarsanghchalak. He nursed that young plant through tumultuous times, including 3 ban orders till it became the biggest voluntary organization in the world. Vividh Sangathanas
