I am not a "The Metaverse" guy but more like a "Metareality" guy. Which is that the digital/symbolic will absorb all financial asset value, then all IP value then all value.
The best thing about open source realities is that they are environments of consent.
and of course the problem with meatspace is that you may enter an adversarial contest against your will, and people will try to build framings that disadvantage you
By my definition, consentspace is gamespace. Participants must be able to freely leave. That is why a monolithic "The Metaverse" is undesirable.
I think @gabusch is working on creating consentspace in gaming. I need to get him to stop saying "The Metaverse" though =)
