How does cowin administrator control vaccination in 12 videos from Nandan Nilekani's eGovernment Foundation which pushed cowin on government. It was this code & nilekani which allowed private distribution & setting of prices much before govt decided it.

Short thread for lawyers & others who work on criminal justice system. The e-courts committee has shared a draft with vision for phase 3 of e-courts project. The draft was made by representative from Agami, Vidhi Legal Centre and Daksh.

There is a fundamental problem I have with the committee's vision. They propose Open-APIs to share data between all organizations of criminal justice system. At heart of this system is Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). Which will integrate courts, prisons, police. Image
ICJS as being said will give one a 360 degree overview of criminals in the criminal justice system. But it extends beyond criminals as the MHA wants to make amendments to Identification of Prisoners Act to included pretty much everyone into this system. ICJS is housed inside MHA

Thread on origins of bio-metrics in banking and subsidy delivery with Electronic Banking System in Andhra Pradesh in 2006. This is about the AP smart card project. This is the true origin of biometrics with #Aadhaar & Direct Benefit Transfer System.

The idea around DBT primarily comes with the whole Financial Inclusion Initiatives being promoted by government. But the usage of bio-metrics though happened with this smart card project in Andhra Pradesh. The project was a pilot which & it identified few cores areas.
Since the pilot was for NREGA work payments, identification of work payments was required. So it all centered around identity. Biometrics with smart cards was decided to be used. Reason for this according to me is the already existing SCOSTA card standard scosta.gov.in

I first heard about them during the #Aadhaar case when its founder @Arghya_justify was involved in defending govt's stance that Indians don't need a fundamental right to privacy. His stance during the hearing was privacy is part of article 21, so one doesn't need it to elevate it
During hearings in SC, government constitutes Sri Krishna committee for making a data protection law because @Vidhi_India has suggested it @rsprasad. The govt used this as an argument to persuade the court to not grant fundamental right to privacy saying there will be a data law.

iSPIRT is a lobby group, cabal, cartel which pushes policy changes to help them push their technology inside government. These volunteers build Aadhaar, UPI, e-KYC, e-Sign, DigitalLocker. They are paid by iSPIRT with their last salary upto 36 lakhs.
The volunteers they get early access to some of these technologies to start companies on top of them. The ex CTO of Aadhaar started Khosla Labs, early access to UPI is given only to friends of iSPIRT. So if you talk against them, you get legal notices or trolled. True story.
