It begins with relocalization: source everything locally (consume less), become a food producer, or work with one to create relationships; hire and value tradespersons, and the community of practitioners that keep our lives functioning; and cultivate mutual aid. Weave community.
Localization is necessary but not sufficient.
There is also a need to be involved in the politics of regional watershed & land management. Not everyone can do everything, of course, but be aware of how non-local actors are trying to control or extract vital materials regionally

When we are engaging in community locally, a more regional interest can follow naturally, because our friends and partners we have shared concerns that reach beyond the local, and which will amplify our own involvements.
And, importantly, we need to do the work to extinguish prejudice and racism in our lives and institutions. There are important conversations and actions within and among practitioners that can lead to co-building more equitable and empowering communities. #bioregionalism
