9 mistakes to avoid in your 20s:

(A thread every young person needs to read)..

1.) Spending time with the wrong people

Everybody knows “you are who you surround yourself with”

So:

- Surround yourself with fat, broke, losers and you’ll become the same.

OR

- Surround yourself with fit, wealthy, winners and you’ll become the same.

2.) Staying at a shit, low-paying job

Just because you’re young doesn’t mean you can’t get a great job.

McDonalds is doing NOTHING beneficial for your future.

- Get a sales job
- Serve at a high-end restaurant
- Find something that either pays well or teaches you SKILLS.

At 19 I got a job selling cars making $60,000 my first year.

By 21, I was making $12,000-$16,000 PER month.

This wouldn’t have happened working at McDonald’s.

Imagine what this would do for your future.

3.) Trying to impress your friends

In high school & college, 99% of people want to be “liked”..

They care what everyone else thinks about them.

What’s this lead to?

Unnecessary spending on clothes, shoes, cars, phones, etc..

And it’s all for absolutely NOTHING.

When you’re young, your friends might think it’s “cool” for you to have these things..

But when you “get into the real world”, nobody gives a fuck.

The real flex in life is freedom and early retirement.

The right friends aren’t impressed by a $1200 Gucci bag.

4.) Taking college classes for a degree that pays very little.

You know I find HILARIOUS?

People going to college, getting a degree, getting $80,000 in debt, only to make $40,000 per year..

Congrats! 🍾🎉

You just FUCKED yourself!

Look..

I’m not here to shit-talk college.

College can be a great option.

But ONLY if you’re getting a degree in a field that is going to pay you WELL.

Otherwise, if your goal is to make a lot of money,

Get a sales job or get into the trades and avoid that insane debt.

5.) Rushing to move out

Picture this:

Person 1 gets a job paying $30,000/yr, gets an apartment and moves out at 19.

Person 2 get that same job, stays at home for 2 years and stacks away $40,000 by the time they’re 21.

Who do you think has a greater chance of success?

Rushing to move out when you don’t need to is adding YEARS to the time you have til retirement.

Imagine if you were making $60,000/yr at 19

2 years staying at home could have you nearing $100,000 at 21!!

Becoming a millionaire is a guarantee at that point.

Don’t be in a rush.

6.) Never blaming yourself

Most people LOVE blaming everyone for THEIR situation except themselves.

If you want to become successful, start acting as if EVERYTHING is your fault.

There is always something you could have done differently in any situation.

You don’t make enough money?
- It’s not your employer’s fault.
~ It’s YOUR fault.
Get a better f*cking job

You’re depressed & unmotivated?
~ Get in shape, eat healthy & surround yourself with a healthy environment

There is ALWAYS something you can do.

Take accountability.

7.) Not building something that PAYS you.

Imagine if you start a Twitter, YouTube, or Instagram account at age 19..

If you spent 5-10 years building that account..

You’d be in your mid-20s with an asset paying you $5,000-$20,000+ per month!

I started taking my Twitter account serious just a year ago and I expect to make over $50,000 from it this year.

1-2 years from now?

$10,000/month is a guarantee.

You can’t fail with long-term dedication.

8.) Giving up too early

When you’re young..
Time is on your side.

So jumping into a business and quitting after 3 weeks is insane.

I jumped from dropshipping to email marketing to facebook ads to social media management to lead gen all within 2 years and had ZERO success.

If you want to maximize your chances of success

- Dedicate 5 years MINIMUM
- Pay a coach to mentor you
- Track your progress

And don’t let yourself burnout.

If someone else can do it, so can you.

Figure it out.

9.) Getting drunk every weekend

When you’re young, people your age work Monday-Friday and party Friday-Sunday.

Let me ask you something..

How can you expect to get ahead in life if all you do is work and party?

You NEED to build something.
You NEED to invest.

All I’m trying to say is you must find a balance between fun/partying and business/deep work.

You won’t retire in your 30s if you aren’t doing anything to escape.

Your 20s aren’t the best years of your life.

Bust your ass in your 20s, and make the rest of your life amazing.
