Anyone who believes Kenney is in any imminent danger of being ousted doesn’t understand the base supporters UCP has.

But they should. The vast majority are evangelical Christians who have abandoned critical thinking and adopted faith in what they are told from their pastor.

Several others are Q’Anon and have the same relationship with Q and conspiracies that evangelicals have with pastors, god and the “inerrant” bible.

The rest are white supremacists and hard core right libertarians who are itching to get started with harvesting natural resources.

They also want to purge visible immigrants or at least enforce a pecking order on LGBTQ, BIPOC and women.

Yes, there are a few mouthy crazies who create trouble, use verbal intimidation and occasionally physical intimidation.

But the enforcers in the white supremacy movement need to lay low right now. Proud Boys have disbanded. Soldiers of Odin, 3%ers are staying quiet, biding their time.

If a devoutly religious radicalized extremist MLA is writing a note of reassurance to his constituents, you can guarantee, the remaining dozens of Dominionist MLAs are doing the same.

Kenney is not in any danger of losing his job. At all.

No more than Harper was in trouble of losing his job in 2009 when evangelicals who delivered a conservative minority, twice, complained about the lack of action and policy addressing their issues.

The attached c2c article defines social conservatism for readers. While full of euphemisms, it’s easy to recognize the propaganda that’s been repeated ad nauseam for millennia.

Social conservatives aren’t trying to impose their Dominionist Christian beliefs and values on liberals and socialists.

This article positions social conservatives as the guardians of Natural Law: the wisdom collected over eons by white, heterosexual, wealthy, powerful men.

They’re just guiding those of us that have lost our marbles to the seduction of humanism and secularism to accept the patriarchy, class hierarchy, white privilege, heterosexual nuclear family that is NORMAL by traditional standards.

As the guardians of tradition, conservatives are pretty angry that the UCP electoral win hasn’t yet produced a sharp 180 degree sprint back to late 19th century. When women knew their place, sworn bachelors were discreet and the wealthy didn’t need to worry about Supreme Courts.

Not only that disappointment, but covid has become quite the burden to bear for those who don’t believe in science more adequately explains the risks to human lives than faith. It’s not like there has been a dearth of propaganda and disinformation to reinforce those beliefs.

Interesting in this article is the grouping of libertarian and liberals as similar in belief and values.

I wonder where NDP got the idea that neoliberals are actually the same as political party liberals? I imagine some Red Tories might be. But not big “L” liberals.

As a liberal humanist, I can attest I am not a neoliberal. Not even close.

But this article does explain the people currently complaining about Kenney imposing covid restrictions and the actual enforcement of them now.

They don’t believe in the accuracy of scientific research.

Groups like Friends of Science and multiple ethically challenged Dominionist Christian scientists and physicians are more than willing to undermine the scientific narrative. And do so every day.

Conservatives honour the age old Greek and Roman tradition of Pater familias or Greek Patriarchy.

The oldest male is the arbiter of life and death for every other member of the family. Wife, children slaves or associated freemen.

It’s recognized as classic NATURAL wisdom.

Which has now been redefined as traditional Christian Patriarchy.

There were other world powers who didn’t treat women as inferior beings and property. But, never mind them.

Egypt was far more progressive. But remember Moses led god’s chosen people out of Egypt.

But it sure seems self serving for white males to perpetuate this view of “Natural Law” putting themselves at the top of the social hierarchy. This is what UCP was elected to reestablish & is the source of the angst expressed by his base for not yet getting that done.

I think someone forgot to tell Dominionists about Lesbos and Sappho, pederasty, and the commonality of same sex relationships between men in Rome and Greece

Or maybe that’s why so many Dominionists are caught in sex scandals. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Needless to say, Kenney and UCP are not in any danger of losing their base support. Kenney is appointed by god. Like a King or Trump.

But there sure are a happy bunch of lefties clinging to false hope. And a swathe of pundits who I no longer believe know their butt from a hole.

UCP is not a democratic political party. The majority of elected MLAs are Dominionist Christians. Which is who their primary base supporters is as well.

Kenney is a master manipulator. Whomever believes he’s an idiot has not researched his long 30 year experience in politics.

Nor are they factoring in his support from Steven Harper and IDU. Additionally they forget to consider UCP and GOP Republicans are currently singing the same song, in harmony.

Take your head out of the bubble, remove the rise coloured glasses and look at reality.

Kenney and UCP are cracking down on the fringe wexit members and stoking polarization between the public and radicalized irrational activists.

Tell me you don’t have strong feelings of rage and disgust for those continuing to break covid restrictions.

And you don’t experience sanctimonious triumph when they’re arrested or fined?

That’s emotional manipulation. Not leadership. You’ve been provoked to feel that way.

You’re much easier to control and trick when you’re emotionally raw and distracted by salacious click bait.

Did no one watch what happened for four years in the US with Trump as president?

Same is happening here in Alberta.

Or do you just want to believe so bad that it can’t happen here in Canada, in Alberta?

It’s happening.

Quit chasing squirrels.

Quit considering UCP a democratic political party. They and their base abandoned democracy a long, long time ago. Harper was supposed to deliver them their theocracy. And very nearly did. But was defeated electorally in 2015.

What is standing between UCP fully implementing their planned policies?

A minority Liberal government.

Who has provided about 90% of relief benefits for Albertans.

And whose leader is despised by rural Albertans and many urbanites. Regardless of their political beliefs.

And while you’re at it, thank your lucky stars Treaty 8 Chiefs aren’t buying what UCP is selling. Thank Chief Adam Allan for going public with the catastrophe in RMWB on @ryanjespersen.

That’s why Kenney is enforcing covid restrictions. It’s not his “coming to Jesus” moment.

It’s an opportunity taken by a political opportunist to rile up the fringe racists and radicalized extremist Christians to trust less, hate more and act out. While his justice minister identified the targets. LPC, AB NDP and journalists.
