@Hadithoftheday Zakariya A.S
Yahya A.S was born after his father Zakkariya A.S prayed to Allah for him.
Zakariya A.S prayed with utmost conviction to Allah as mentioned in Glorious Qur'an as:
“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.” (3:38)
“O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors.” (Al Qur’an 21:89)
@Hadithoftheday Zakkariya A.S also supplicated as mentioned in Qur'an:
My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy."
(Surah Maryam 19: Verse 4)
+
@Hadithoftheday "And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir, who shall inherit me, and inherit ( the posterity of Yaqub). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!” (Al Qur’an 19:5 – 19:6)
@Hadithoftheday Before long, Allah responded to his prayer,confirming that his wife’s barrenness had been cured & that they were to have a son who would also become a Prophet
Moreover,this son had the honour of being named by Allah himself, with a name that had never existed in mankind’s history
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahya and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. (21:90)
@Hadithoftheday Angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, “Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of Yahya, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous.” (Al Qur’an 3:39)
@Hadithoftheday Zakariya A.S was astounded by the news. He burst out:
“My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?” The angel said, “Such is Allah; He does what He wills.” (Al Qur’an 3:40).
@Hadithoftheday True to Allah’s promise, his wife soon delivered a son, and he was named Yahya A.S.
This son had the honour of being named by Allah himself
@Hadithoftheday Zakariya A.S was the Guardian of Maryam A.S. Every time Zakariya A.S checked on her, he always found her surrounded by an abundance of food
He asked her where it was from, & she replied that it was from Allah. Witnessing these miracles repeatedly reaffirmed his faith in Allah +
@Hadithoftheday He had always yearned for a child to continue the legacy of prophethood,but his wife was unable to bear children. Encouraged by the miracles he witnessed,& also being in proximity of such a blessed place and the pure soul of Maryam AS,he prayed with utmost conviction to Allah
@Hadithoftheday Allah responded to his prayer, confirming that his wife’s barrenness had been cured and that they were to have a son who would also become a Prophet. Moreover, this son had the honour of being named by Allah himself, with a name that had never existed in mankind’s history
@Hadithoftheday True to Allah’s promise, his wife soon delivered a son, and he was named Yahya AS . This son had the honour of being named by Allah himself.
Yahya AS was, to his community, the best of characters: calm and deeply compassionate to both humans and animals.His manner was gentle
@Hadithoftheday Yahya A.S was so pure in behaviour and thought that there was not a single action of his that disobeyed Allah. And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents) . (Al Qur’an 19:14) - words in Quran regarding Yahya A.S

@Hadithoftheday Odd number of dates.
It is Mustahab to break the fast with odd number of dates.
It is not obligatory and in fact it is not Sunnah to break the fast with an odd number, three or five or seven or nine, except on the Day of Eid al-Fitr.
@Hadithoftheday Narrated Anas bin Malik R.A : Allah's Messenger ﷺ never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas R.A also narrated: The Prophet ﷺ used to eat odd number of dates - (Sahih Bukhari)
@Hadithoftheday Some scholars have regarded it as mustahabb to make everything odd-numbered.
All words and deeds should be made odd-numbered. This is the Sunnah. (Shaykh Saalih-al-fawzan)
@Hadithoftheday The beginning time for the Fajr prayer. (When there is white thread of daylight)
Allah says in Qur'an:
“And eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your fast till the nightfall.” (2:187)
@Hadithoftheday The Prophet ﷺ instructed the Companions ,
The athān of Bilāl should not prevent you from eating Sahūr because he gives athān at night, therefore keep eating and drinking until you hear the athān of ʿAbdullāh b. Umm Makktum. He gives athān when the fajr comes out.” (Bukhari)
@Hadithoftheday Allah has permitted the fasting person to eat and drink until dawn comes. He, Most High, says: {… and eat and drink until the white thread becometh distinct to you from the black thread of the dawn …} (Al-Baqarah 2:187)
Allah says in Qur'an:
"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous" - (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183)

"Allah is with those who restrain themselves." -(Quran 16:128)
@Hadithoftheday Fasting was prescribed to previous nations too (before nation of Prophet ﷺ) as Allah says in Surah Baqarah:
"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous "
(Qur'an. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 183)
