How to capitalize on broken links 🔗🔗🔗 [thread 🤓]

A great way to augment your link building campaign would be to look for opportunities among the broken links.

This tactic is comprised of three parts:

1⃣Research broken links on the websites covering your niche 🔎
2⃣Create (or find) some content that would be a perfect substitute 📰
3⃣Shoot an email to your prospects offering to link to your content ✉️

Here's how to manage this process with SEO PowerSuite tools ⚙️

Step 1. Create an SEO SpyGlass's project for the domain you want to check for broken links (make sure the 'Enable expert options' checkbox is active).

Step 2. Go to the Backlinks module and look for linked pages with 404 response code, having dofollow backlinks. Double-click on the header of the column to filter the entries by response type.

💡Look for links pointing to pages that you could easily substitute. It's easier to offer your existing content to link to, so you should look for those opportunities first.
However, if that's not an option, you might have to create content specifically to replace that link.

Then, you reach out 📩 to the website you were analyzing and offer your amazing page to replace the old one. Link received!
Look for articles, blog posts, and roundups, those usually have a bunch of links. The older the webpage, the higher the chances it'll have some broken links

After that, it will all be a matter of your outreach. There's no guarantee that most (or any, really) of your prospects will respond to you, but do your best to keep your emails short, to the point, and make it about how you can help them 💝
