In the fight over the NRA's future, one board member has a plan to oust Wayne LaPierre and avoid dissolution. He's in a mad dash to raise $100k over the next week to fun his last-ditch effort. thereload.com/one-board-memb…
Phillip Journey wants to appeal the decision to throw out the NRA's bankruptcy. He wants a trustee appointed to take over the group and then a committee of NRA members to direct the reorganization. thereload.com/one-board-memb…
He says trust needs to be restored in leadership after CEO Wayne LaPierre admitted to diverting hundreds of thousands to his personal expenses and skipping compliance training among other things. He was shocked at what came out during the bankruptcy trial.
"That’s just another thing where my jaw hits the floor,” Journey said. “Every day, my jaw would hit the floor." thereload.com/one-board-memb…
But experts think an appeal is a long shot. Journey thinks the judge is open to appointing a trustee and this path is the least-bad option. Ultimately, he said it will be up to the NRA membership to decide if they want to support him or not. thereload.com/one-board-memb…

The United States Concealed Carry Association has 600,000 members. It is now launching a Super PAC to dive deeper into the political arena. thereload.com/americas-large…
“We’re focused on three things: national concealed carry reciprocity, firearms training, and removing barriers that hinder responsibly-armed Americans’ ability to protect themselves,” @USCCA Super PAC chairman Mike Lowney told @TheReloadSite. thereload.com/americas-large…
With the NRA in turmoil, it's easy to see the potential of a group as big as USCCA getting deeper into politics. Their biggest appeal to date has been their concealed carry insurance (which I have) but they are big enough to make real noise. thereload.com/americas-large…

The NRA's bankruptcy was dismissed on Tuesday. So, what's next for the nation's largest, most influential gun group? Nothing good. thereload.com/experts-paint-…
Experts say the NRA has little room to file an appeal and their options in bankruptcy court are likely exhausted for now. That means they'll have to fight Attorney General Letitia James (D.) in New York court where the bankruptcy probably hurt their case. thereload.com/experts-paint-…
"Bottom line, the gambit failed miserably, and I think it actually made dissolution more likely," University of Pittsburgh professor and non-profit expert Philip Hackney told @TheReloadSite. thereload.com/experts-paint-…

Biden got mixed reviews on guns in an otherwise rosy poll. His approval on gun policy was 15 points lower than his overall job approval.
Americans are almost perfectly split on Biden's handling of guns. 48 approve, 49 disapprove. That will make his task of convincing Congress to pass his gun agenda even harder. thereload.com/poll-bidens-pe…
Biden has aggressively pursued new gun-control measures--including bans--ever since he began running for president. But it's his least popular issue outside of immigration. It will be interesting to see how Americans react to his unilateral action to restrict some kinds of guns.
