US Capitol riot case I'm watching closely today. 10am hearing for Kyle Fitzsimons of Maine. He's in jail, pending trial. I'm waiting to see if feds mention plea deal negotiations.

The violent accusations against Fitzsimons are unique and barbaric ==> Image
Fitzsimons is accused of pushing, grabbing police and trying to pull police into the mob

Feds: He lowered, shoulder & charged into police line. Feds: He pulled an officer's gas mask off, as another in mob sprayed officer in the face

Then there's the butcher coat ..... Image
Feds say Fitzsimons called Trump a lion leading an army of lambs. Fitzsimons allegedly left Trump rally & put on a butcher coat with unstrung bow

According to court docs, Fitzsimons would say "If it were the last day of the republic, he wanted to live it like he did every day" Image

Jan 6 prosecution of accused Proud Boy Chris Worrell is becoming uniquely complicated

Here's what's already happened:

Worrell got COVID in DC jail (recovered)

Worrell asked for case transfer to Florida, because he says DC jurors don't like Trump (pending)

Worrell has non-Hodgkins lymphoma, sought release from jail citing risk of COVID-19

US Justice Dept asked court to keep Worrell in jail, saying:

No recent treatment

He'd *already* recovered from COVID

His expert doc has no staff, records and isn't oncologist

In new court filing, Justice Dept reveals Worrell has visited oncologist at Howard University, while in DC jail.

Bone marrow biopsy was recommended.

The timing of the accused Proud Boy's prosecution.. and incarceration.. seem very uncertain Image

Worrell asks court to transfer his case to Florida, alleging a "homogenous" juror pool in DC, "95%" of whom don't support Trump

Feds respond to accused Capitol Insurrectionist Chris Worrell's request to transfer case to Florida, but arguing he has NOT been "vilified" by media in DC.

And then adds -- with a strong punch -- that prospective jurors have no idea who Chris Worrell is.
Feds say Chris Worrell's request to transfer his US Capitol riot case away from DC (to Florida) because of DC media scrutiny is also faulty ... because they say he's getting even worse press in Florida

Worrell argues he has Non-Hodgkins lymphoma & vulnerable to COVID in jail

But.. there's a twist
In filing last night, Justice Dept argues it's found no record Worrell received treatment recently
Feds express some concerns about the doctor Worrell cites in his argument for release.

Doc has no staff, no medical records and is not oncologist, per prosecutors
