No matter you try to game-out where our society is heading, nor what assumptions you use, it’s hard to find room for optimism. We’ve have turned our civilization over to oligarchs—and their mass media—that will always be able to influence us. We have very few weapons.
And yet we still remained locked into this mindset that only “peaceful change” will serve our interests. How can anyone assume that, when almost all pivotal events influencing the evolution of our modern world were all violent events. It’s curious and suspicious to me.
I mean think about it. Is not what Republicans are now doing the same kind of bullying of the people that dictators and ruling classes have always done? But they have become such a cult, with such enormous media reach, that they make anti-democracy sound like democracy.
We’re rolling over for it so predictably, they just go farther and farther with this hillbilly fascism each day. Instead of us treating the @tuckercarlson’s & @bensharpios as dangerous scoundrels to be scorned, our press gives them safe haven to only gain influence.
@TuckerCarlson Trump and his cabal were the closest thing to 1940s fascism we’ve ever seen, and rather than demand our leaders rebuff them, they are only gaining influence over where we go from here. I know my recording is broken, but I blame us for allowing it to be so easy for them.
And please note how quickly many of your liberal friends will tut-tut the Hamas rockets because they have idealized the plight of the Palestinians and find it “justifiable” violence in light of Israel’s actions. Well, we’re all facing a lot of bad actions. What about us?
I don’t call for violence, but we should stop fearing it so much. In the end, it may be the only thing that stops these extremist conservative hegemons who no longer even pretend to care about democratic ideals. Their corrupt behaviors must end one way or another.
If a band “terrorists” started taking out some of these bad actors by any means necessary, there’d be a lot of crocodile tears and handwringing, but are YOU going to be sorry if these evil shits are terrified to leave their bunkers. No, you won’t. And that’s my 1/2
point. Something has to fix this, and few of us are going to care about how that gets done. Future generations will see it as an inevitable act of war; like D-day and Hiroshima. 2/2
Topics like this SHOULD be discussed more often so that these radical conservatives start to imagine consequences; for themselves and their families. They don’t care about the country, so that’s never a factor. They need to think about a future cost for their malfeasance.
