80% civil service will work from home in the newly updated MCO 3.0.
Private sector will see 40% of the workforce to work from home.
Public transport services will only allow 50% capacity, similar to MCO 1.0.
Businesses will only operate from 8am to 8pm.
The newly updated restrictions will take effect in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan starting May 25.
Ministry of Industries and International Trade (MITI) will announce further details on the new SOPs related to economic activities.
Operating hours for food trucks, stalls, kiosks, food delivery and groceries will only be allowed from 8am to 8pm.
UPDATE:
Pharmacies are allowed to operate from 8am to 10pm.
Federal Chief Secretary outlined the new SOPs for the civil service in the updated MCO 3.0:
- Up to 20% work at office, 80% work from home on rotation basis (frontline services not included)
- Exception to work at office only if WFH cannot be implemented
Continued on WFH for civil service:
- Meetings and discussions online must be done via a secure medium to ensure protection of sensitive information
- Counter service are only opened for services where online services are not available and by appointments only
