In the meeting convened by the Centre regarding conduct of class 12th #CBSE exams, I raised the following points.. (Thread) #BoardExams
Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation & the projection that children are vulnerable to new strains of coronavirus, option of a "NON-EXAMINATION ROUTE" for class 12th students
should be actively examined. #CBSE #BoardExams
Health and mental well-being of children, their families must be our PRIORITY. Students, parents have been sharing their concerns regarding sitting for exams amid the pandemic. #CBSE#boardexams
Since most professional courses hold entrance exams for admissions, many EXPERTS are of the view that it is possible to evaluate performance of a class 12th student based on a retroactive assessment model.
Students have been studying in class 12th for over 14 months. Personally, I believe that we should remove the uncertainty regarding exams & take a decision that is in student's interest.
Our focus should now be in evolving a UNIFORM ASSESSMENT policy, VACCINATION of all teachers & eligible students, &
safe resumption of schools, colleges campuses for the next academic year.
It is unfortunate that the #COBSE has not met at all even during such challenging times. We should ensure regular meetings.
For CBSE schools, Centre has sought feedback from states on two options it has proposed for the conduct of exams. I've given our initial feedback but have conveyed that will hold further deliberations with @cmomaharashtra and legal experts on both CBSE and our own board exams.

Keeping in mind the schedule of entrance exams for professional courses, class 12th exams will be held by end of May, while 10th standard exams will be in June. We're closely monitoring the health situation. Fresh dates for these exams will be announced accordingly (2/5)
The decision is the outcome of consultations with various stakeholders-students, teachers, parents, elected representatives from across parties, academicians & tech giants- in the wake of rising coronavirus cases. I also thank @cmomaharashtra for his guidance & approval (3/5)
Hats off to our students who have braved this tough academic year. To help them, here are some concessions and guidelines for the final exams. For FAQs, refer mahahsscboard.in
Conducting practicals in school has been tough this year and therefore we have decided that students need to be given a concession here. That is why, to start with, we have decided to do away with science practical exams for SSC, replacing them with internal assignments.
The internal assignments submissions will take place after written exams (From May 21-June10). This will be conducted in the respective schools. If any child falls sick during this submission period, an additional grace period of 15 days will be granted for submissions.
