Reported 50 HCW deaths in a day, last week (Total 420). These are preventable deaths, hit hard at many levels. Why is it important for the global community and Canada to take note? bit.ly/3uiiNsu

Dr. KK Aggarwal, Cardiologist, and recipient of many prestigious medical and civilian awards, before he passed away due to COVID, said: "The show must go on..."

A very high % of my own physician colleagues in India 🇮🇳have contracted COVID w/ mild symptoms, and many died: anesthesiologist, surgeon, dermatologist and interns fresh out of medical school, (median age 40 yrs).

Suggested actions:
✳️ Collect data, and investigate the cause of deaths of these HCWs
✳️ Any preventable issues such as access to PPE, or PPE training is fixable
✳️ Tele-mentoring and self-sustaining solutions possible

✳️ Is it vaccine failure in the setting of Variants of Concern?
Vaccines still effective against severe infection, and hospitalization. More data is needed. Prioritization and access to vaccination for HCW should be a priority. @CentreInfection | bit.ly/34qiaCV
