Horrifying story from #Belarus. After yet another interrogation by Lukashenka thugs, 17-year-old participant of protests in August 2020 Dzmitry Stakhouski blamed the Investigative Committee in his last post and jumped from a 16th floor window the same day.

TRANSLATION of the last post of 17-year-old Dzmitry Stakhouski.
If you read this, that means I am no longer alive.
The Investigative Committee is to blame.
It's not a secret that there was [a criminal case on the] Article 293 part 2 [of the Criminal Code] against me. In short, [they opened the case] for rallying. I don't think I would do such a horrible thing as suicide if they would not continue to exert moral pressure on me.
But I was worn out. And, as you can see, I couldn't handle this. Yes. Many people said to me, "Take it easy. Everything will turn out all right. Don't think about negative. Put out bad thoughts." But it is easy to say until you end up in such situation.
A feel very sorry that I've lived so little. You know, just a couple years ago I made plans for the future, that I would again travel abroad, that I would live and work there. But, you know, life is so unpredictable.
Have you ever thought that I would face such a choice? A difficult choice. That's why I can not say that the suicide is the solution of all the problems. No, my friends. This is not the right choice. This is the very terrible choice.
Live. Life is the thing to be valued. You have only one life and certainly you won't have another one.
In conclusion to my suicide note, I want to express my gratitude to my friends, people I know and to all those whom I met during my short life. And also thank you all who helped me for many years. You are incredible and I always loved all.
I liked help and to do good things, so before going to the next world to something behind me. Just a little piece of kindness.
Be a little more kind. And in general, live a positive life.

My dear beloved Belarusians! We all and our country are going through a very difficult period in our history. When meanness borders on heroism, despair on courage, and love on betrayal. During this period we must make our choice. These times demand it from us.
These days, when we buried our heroes, I cry with you. This is an incredible loss for the country: innocent young people have been killed. We need to support their families. We are obliged to name the streets by their names in the future, their names will remain in our memory
