.@jaredlholt buddy I love you but I have a snall bone to pick with you about this latest report of yours. Its good BUUUUT "QAnon’s hallmark catchphrases evaporating from the mainstream internet" link.medium.com/wlCazaZHzgb
From a methodological perspective what was measured I don't think is too much of a problem however I think it is important to take note that the data sources that were used are not complete. The report does acknowledge that is not using data from telegram however that is a flaw.
Telegram plays an important role in the QAnon ecosystem, not only in the US but transnationally currently there are over 600 qanon telegram channels. The volume of content there might challenge the finding that qanon is not able to Outpost it's counterparts on mainstream media.
Also to other important data sources such as mewe and cloudhub we're also not included which do have a fair size QAnon community on those platforms. To that end I would argue that the report is not incorrect but incomplete.
therefore the conclusions that were made in the axials report need to be taken with a grain of salt. As without including data from telegram I do not think any research about qanon can be complete at this time.
Also it is important to note that since January 2021 there has been a shift in tone and narratives and behaviors whereby some of the content might not be captured in scraping.
Now it is important to acknowledge how difficult it is to get data from these platforms especially quality data to that end it is important to realize that research in this space is going to be incomplete and that any conclusions drawn off this research need to acknowledge this.
A mixed method approach is going to be one of the best solutions to deal with this challenge. It is important to acknowledge that the QAnon community is evolving and I might not be the same qanon movement that was present on Twitter and Facebook in 2020
Now this is something that the report does acknowledge however journalists are going to use this report for their own writing need to acknowledge these nuances as they are important understanding the evolution of these spaces
However the conclusion that @jaredlholt makes about how there has been a decrease of queue on content on these platforms are correct however these have been changing and growing consistently in a different form.
It is also important to remember that parler went down following the events of January and that job was not able to keep up with all the new individuals trying to join in the platform and basically ddosed itself
As a reaction to that a lot of the influencers in the QAnon community moved to Telegram. Additionally influencer neon Revolt locked the largest q and on group on gab subsequently limiting its capacity to share and spread content which also would bias the results in the report
Overall it's a good report & if you read it in details you will understand the nuances of the situation but I think it is important to acknowledge that an analysis that does not include telegram is not complete and if you are going to use this report you must include the nuances

A nontrivial 15% of Americans agree with the QAnon allegation “the government, media, & financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation,” while 82% Americans disagree prri.org/research/qanon…
Similarly, one in five Americans (20%) agree with the statement “There is a storm coming soon that will sweep away the elites in power and restore the rightful leaders,” while a majority (77%) disagree.
Fifteen percent of Americans agree that “Because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country,” while the vast majority (85%) disagree.

I wonder if anyone @YouTube would be willing to explaing how this QAnon and JFK jr channel is verified?
I'm just wondering if this is the quality content I need to produce to get a blue check on YouTube asking for @dappergander who wants to expand his counter QAnon platform ImageImageImage
I mean their verified YouTube leads to their website which leads to their telegram channel. Since everyone was deplatformed you need to start backwards to know what type of actors use your platform to monitor their propaganda.

The entire point of Watkins new project is a rebrand of QAnon, there are to many powerful voices that are taking over the QAnon space that are not OG influencers or Watkins. Watkins also knows there are only so many recounts he can "monitor" before people loose interest.
People like Powell, Wood, Flynn and GhostEzra have taken a more influencer role in QAnon spaces that some of the OH influencers and this pisses them off and they cannot compete with the size of their audiences.
This will probably a project that Sather and IET jump on with Watkins so that they can controll the narrative an audience. It's about power, and this specific narrative will appeal to a specific subgroup of QAnon and the conspiracy theory space. Image

1/ For those who missed my @GNET_research panel I'm going to share my slides here with some of my comments on how violent extremist organizations have leveraged the COVID-19 pandemic.
2/ early analysis in 2020 raised two points, the COVID-19 health restrictions would likely have an impact on offline recruitment from VEOs, while simultaneously boosting their efforts at recruiting online.
3/ Was online recruitment successful is something that is difficult to answer and I have yet to find any convincing findings about this as we cannot talk about recruitment in the traditional sense.

The GhostEzra channel, which has 335k members, whas gone from Antisemitic to holocaust denialism in less than a week. It is also networking the QAnon adherents in that channel to more extre groups on Telegram. It has become a hub for radicalization
What is important is that there is no channel on terrogram, no nazi channel, no white supremacist channel that has tens of thousands of members, nevermind 335k. GhostEzra (and a few others) are introducing violent extremist ideologies to a large pool of extremists.
This could still be called an emerging trend, there was always antisemitism, or elements of in QAnon, but the type of content being shared in the GhostEzra channel is not the norm and has taken very extreme turns

1/ This users post is a terrifyingly good example of someone who has truly radicalized into QAnon. lets take a quick look at the signs of what he describes as "growing spiritually" and detaching from mainstream society.
2/ First, the description of his radicalization process is very similar to a religious conversion in this case. From his post it is not only about being pilled as he's "been awake for 10 years". QAnon has given him a new religious experience in a way.
3/ Some key signs of what he is describing might be something you'd notice if someone you know if going a little too far down the rabbit hole. No longer interested in topics that they were passionate about. In this case the user is no longer into college football as he was before
