There’s a spectrum in between. Some folks have all information filtered by ideology rather than life experience and education — that is an ideologue. Merely having principles doesn’t make one an ideologue.

This isn’t merely “no you” but an observation (acknowledging exceptions) about when people who filter reality through their ideology use such tactics.

Ideologues can’t change their mind under such circumstances as the information doesn’t exist to them as their ideology filters it out.

Sargon’s Law notes upfront that exceptions exist through “usually.”
