Israeli companies supply all branches of the 🇨🇴 military and police with their main rifles, while Israeli armored cars and drones are countering the protests. IDF and 🇮🇱 mercenaries also train Colombia's military and paramilitaries using tactics they devised oppressing Gazans.

Israeli mercenaries are well known to be operating inside Colombia and across the Andes, carrying out assassinations, as one expert told me.

Israeli companies also offer the Colombian government facial recognition software and services.

Colombia and Israel have close economic and political ties too, inking a free trade deal in 2013.

Israeli weapons go one way, are used to clear millions of peasants off the land so mining corps can take over. Newly dug Colombian coal goes back to Israel.

Israeli mercenaries are so normalized in Colombia that, while president of the country, Juan Manuel Santos appeared in an advertisement for one firm.

Colombia and Israel both play a similar role for the US as regional lieutenants, ensuring that countries around them don't get "out of line".

They also have an ongoing "peace process" which never seems to involve any peace. And both demonize their opponents as "terrorists."

Across Latin America, the far-right identifies with Israel while left-wing liberation movements see themselves as part of the same struggle with Palestine.
