Ima Koko ni Aru Kiki to Boku no Kokando ni Tsuite (KokoBoku) has reached its final episode today.
For some reason, we have come to realize that "meaning" is not very cost effective. >>>
However, as a person who loves it, I would like words to be accompanied by the spirit of meaning, and I would like to continue to depict the beauty and richness of words when they are so.
Unlike a stray cat like me, I believe it must have been a very difficult job to create such a meaning-filled expression in a large organization like NHK, a public broadcasting station.
I would like to express my deepest respect to Natsuko Katsuta, Dir. Shibata and Dir. Horikirizono, and all the cast and staff, including Tori Matsuzaka, who made the drama possible without any compromise even in the midst of the crisis of Covid-19.
Thank you very much.

Btw, Kokoboku screenwriter Aya Watanabe tweeted this evening that she wrote ep4,5 in March,2020.
And, that she's thankful this is being broadcasted.
And that it's not that she can forcast the events. I like her tweet lol.
Some facts
this week's episode is scientifically real. It is supervised by Professor Hirotaka Kanuka from the Department of Tropical Medicine, Jikei University School of Medicine.
Coincidently, my two subbing projects, Hankei5m and KokoBoku are from the same producer, Natsuko Kasuta.
She said this is unique situation to have two of hers in the same season cuz KokoBoku has been delayed from last year.
- Said, Hankei5m set up is mostly her idea. Tabloid/weekly magazine setting, Niori, women's theme, Yoshine's character writing from one side and slowly learn from Nagasaku's character's willing to study from all perspectives.
(Also said, NHK's Friday 10pm slot is for women.)
- KokoBoku case: her idea is the university setting but Kanzaki, PR stuffs and "words without meaning"idea are Aya Watanabe's setup. Tori was offered the role even without finishing the script.
- Dir said he, Sayuri Yoshinaga and Toei president had a discussion for casting since the movie is sth like symbolizing the baton pass of "hope for the future" to the next gen. So, they wanted to cast formidable young actors.
- There, Yoshinaga-san suggested both Tori and Suzu first saying she's a fan of Tori and has been watching Suzu since she's a kid. Everyone agreed her suggestion but they thought it's impossible both will be free for 2020 summer. (afaik elderly actors only work in warm season.)
- Dir. said they called them preparing not getting both but it's a miracle both are free of the slot. So, this happened. :)
