And Day 2 is done! I’ll be visiting more graves and tweeting your requests tomorrow (please send them my way!), but I wanted tell you a little more about two Medal of Honor recipients I had the privilege of visiting today..
Sgt Clyde Thomason was from Atlanta, GA, and was a Marine Raider and the first enlisted Marine to receive the Medal of Honor during World War II...
At 6’4”, this handsome Devil dog needed a height waiver to be a Raider. He received his posthumous MOH for his bravery in the assault on the Makin Islands, including an occasion where he walked into the line of fire to kick in a door and take out a Japanese sniper..
I also visited LTC Don Carlos Faith, who received his MOH for bravery in the Korean War. A career Army officer, he was a decorated WWII vet when he led his men to counterattack/escape a North Korean ambush near the Chosin Reservoir...
LTC Faith was killed in battle on Dec 2, 1950 on the Chosin and his body was never recovered. Over 60 years later, his remains were discovered, identified, and returned home to buried in Arlington Cemetery 🇺🇸
These two men lived and sacrificed their lives long before I was born, but I spent an hour learning about their lives and finding their graves today. It’s a small thing, but now I will never forget them. I encourage you to do the same!

And we’re back for our 3rd and final day of #TheHonorProject 2021! I’ll be tweeting photos of the graves I visit in this thread today...please DM me if you have a loved one you would like visited in Arlington Cemetery and it would be my honor to visit them for you 🇺🇸#MemorialDay
This is my friend @AmberSmithUSA’s friend CW4 Michael Slebodnik. He was killed in Afghanistan flying a OH-58 Kiowa helicopter on September 11, 2008. From what I’ve read and heard he was an absolute badass and incredible mentor. Read about him here: google.com/amp/s/www.lega…
Day 1 of #TheHonorProject was cold, rainy, and incredible. I’m so grateful to the volunteers who came out today...please follow the hashtag as we share the names of the fallen this weekend 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’ll be visiting and sharing the photos of the graves y’all send requests for here on Monday, but in the meantime I’d like to share a little more background on an Airman whose grave has become one I visit every time I’m in Arlington Cemetery..
This is Air Force Capt. Ryan Phaneuf’s grave and it’s the first place I visited for #TheHonorProject. Last year, his wife @MeganMuratTV asked me to visit his grave, not knowing whether or not he would even have a headstone yet...
Ok, so between all the pieces on our failed education system (depressing), an unfinished debate with a friend (annoying), and bc I told @MZHemingway I would, here’s the tweet thread with my recent thoughts on passing on what we believe to our kids...
..we often hear a viewpoint that Jefferson held on government. That each generation should reshape/reinterpret laws to fit a new lens, and that what we fight for today could just as likely be forgotten tomorrow as our kids make their own choices about what matters most to them..
...and more importantly, that there’s nothing to be sad about if the next generation chooses a different path. After all, who are we to tell the future citizens what country they should want?
Does anyone have buddies buried in Arlington who they would like visited today? Since only family members are allowed in, I would be honored to pay respects on your behalf...
@MeganMuratTV I am so sorry for your loss, but feel so privileged to have visited your husband. He and you deserve the highest honor and I will keep you in my prayers 🙏🏻 ♥️🇺🇸
