Sgt Clyde Thomason was from Atlanta, GA, and was a Marine Raider and the first enlisted Marine to receive the Medal of Honor during World War II...

At 6’4”, this handsome Devil dog needed a height waiver to be a Raider. He received his posthumous MOH for his bravery in the assault on the Makin Islands, including an occasion where he walked into the line of fire to kick in a door and take out a Japanese sniper..

I also visited LTC Don Carlos Faith, who received his MOH for bravery in the Korean War. A career Army officer, he was a decorated WWII vet when he led his men to counterattack/escape a North Korean ambush near the Chosin Reservoir...

LTC Faith was killed in battle on Dec 2, 1950 on the Chosin and his body was never recovered. Over 60 years later, his remains were discovered, identified, and returned home to buried in Arlington Cemetery 🇺🇸

These two men lived and sacrificed their lives long before I was born, but I spent an hour learning about their lives and finding their graves today. It’s a small thing, but now I will never forget them. I encourage you to do the same!
