sure she deserved to get backlash for this but google search feeding her "serbia" feels like karma's gone too far. its like a middle school bully went to give someone a wedgie and accidentally pulled the pin on a hand grenade that blew their organs 40 feet across the gym
all we needed was for her to google “countries besides israel founded in 1947” and we couldve witnessed the fastest geopolitical realignment in history
social media replacing television as the main driver of public opinion has forced the hasbara machine to transition from a handful of disciplined messengers to thousands of western zionist teens all posting publicly and frankly it could not have gone less smoothly

glad people are discovering the VP ball, but sad its flattened to "KKK party" and ignoring the part where marxist-led strikers briefly seized st louis in 1877 and every year since the city's elite has celebrated its suppression by crowning the city's richest man as their new god Image
the wiki page doesnt even begin to do justice to how insane the entire thing is. back when i first read about it there was almost no coverage outside local papers, not because its stopped attracting the most powerful people in st louis but because its much more private now
that extends to the strike of 1877 too. its mostly buried in digitized secondary sources and old websites but this sort of stuff is just not supposed to be possible in the united states, especially a former slave state one year after the collapse of reconstruction ImageImageImageImage

feel like a lot of people who dream of marxism becoming a serious force in american politics never considered that just because normal people start turning on capitalism doesnt mean they'll stop having cringey taste in comedy and stuff
im not saying you have to train yourself to enjoy this stuff or pretend its not embarrassing. just warning you that if you genuinely believe the contradictions of capitalism are becoming more obvious and whatnot you should brace yourself for way more of this
you always knew that any possibility of revolution would be a long and painful process, but you assumed that sacrifice just meant like getting taken to a black site or charging a machine gun. are you ready to accept the existence of a marxist john oliver

very funny counterexample to pick if youre gonna complain about inflated deaths, given that the 63 here includes stuff like "old white guy had to go to a new grocery store because his usual one was closed and the korean manager strangled him for dropping corn husks on the floor"
he's one of 14 white people on the list including actual murder victims, unsolved deaths, and:

- security guard whose buddy accidentally shot him

- guy fell through a roof while trying to put out a fire

- guy who overdosed while smoking in bed and burned his house down
of the two asians who died, one was never solved and the other was accidentally shot by the epic Roof Koreans

its already stupid to care what the majority of econ academics think. if you care what one econ professor guesses the majority of his colleagues think you should be lobotomized
the entire job consists of making up numbers to plug into a formula and then pretending the results are empirical because it uses math. now theyre getting too lazy to even run the made up numbers through a model. sad
every contemporary macro model starts off with some paper saying “while this model is necessarily a simplification of reality, it provides a useful blah blah blah” and then within five years another paper is using it to mathematically determine who should live and die

californian ideology guys have changed their definition of "NIMBY" from "supports redlining" to "supports rent control" to "supports any regulations for developers" to "supports literally any regulation of the private sector at all" in the space of like ten years
youre supposed to wait for each successive definition to enter general usage before moving onto the next one. if you keep shifting it before anyone outside the bay area can catch up you just sound incomprehensible to anyone with a real job
these dudes are going up their own ass so quickly that i keep seeing communists retweet stuff like this because to any normal person it looks like a history meme and not a very specific type of guy who thinks the housing bubble would go away if we made evictions easier Image

this seems like an impressively fair and well-intentioned response, but i also absolutely believe the democrats could and would have stamped this story out long before it got this far if they had any serious national ambitions for cuomo
look at the replies. the base was all geared up to run the exact same playbook they used for joe biden (timing, just kissing, character witnesses, trump is worse, etc) but the leadership just let him hang. the minute SNL got to joke about it you knew he was done
for biden they had state prosecutors investigate *his accuser* and had journos interviewing her former landlord for dirt. the personnel records stayed sealed and there was none of this independent inquiry stuff. a fair investigation means the party doesnt think cuomo is worth it
