Yesterday, the President visited Tulsa, Oklahoma, to remember the Tulsa Massacre and recommit to building an economy that works for every American.

Today, we're doing a deep-dive into how the American Jobs Plan prioritizes addressing long-standing racial injustice.
The American Jobs Plan will expand job opportunities for communities of color by investing in equitable workforce development and job training, helping Black and Brown-owned small businesses access capital, and delivering high-speed broadband to all Americans.
People of color and low-income workers are more likely to live in areas burdened by pollution or vulnerable to climate change-related weather events. The American Jobs Plan will target 40% of the benefits of its climate and infrastructure investments to underserved communities.
Americans of color are more than twice as likely as white Americans to rely on public transportation. By making historic investments in our infrastructure, the American Jobs Plan can help build a more equitable transportation system and address residential segregation.
The American Jobs Plan aims to increase racial equity through critical housing investments by:
- Delivering affordable housing to communities of color
- Addressing the racial gap in homeownership
- Mitigating exclusionary zoning policies that foster residential segregation
The American Jobs Plan promotes racial equity in our education system by updating and building new public schools and early childhood development centers, as well as investing in community college infrastructure to support students of color and rural Americans.
Caregivers – who are disproportionally women of color – are often underpaid and undervalued. The American Jobs Plan will invest in our care economy by ensuring benefits and workplace protections, as well as tackling racial disparities in access to home- and community-based care.

Nearly 170 million Americans have stepped up and rolled up their sleeves to get a shot. 52% of adults are now fully vaccinated – including 75% of all seniors.
Today we are announcing a month-long effort to pull out all the stops to get 70% of adult Americans vaccinated.
Starting next week, many vaccination sites – will be offering extended hours during the month of June – including pharmacies that will be open 24 hours every Friday night this month.
For parents who haven’t been able to get the shot because they didn’t have child care. Starting today, KinderCare, Learning Care Group, and Bright Horizons – alongside hundreds of YMCA locations – will offer free, drop-in child care while parents are getting vaccinated.

During this Mental Health Awareness Month and all year round, the Biden-Harris Administration is focused on building an improved, expanded system of care for the mental health needs of adults and children.

Here’s a look at what we’re doing:
President Biden’s American Rescue Plan delivered $3 billion for substance use and mental health care block grants. These funds ensure that states provide pathways to prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services — especially for underserved communities.
The American Rescue Plan also included $420 million in funding to support Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics to expand access to high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services.

Caregiving is infrastructure — and even before COVID-19, we were in the midst of a caregiving crisis. Hundreds of thousands of people who need better care can't access it, and one in six essential care workers lives in poverty.

Here’s how the American Jobs Plan will change that:
The American Jobs Plan will invest $400 billion to expand access to quality, affordable home- or community-based care for seniors and people with disabilities — helping hundreds of thousands of Americans obtain the long-term services and support they need.
It will also solidify the infrastructure of our care economy by creating new jobs and offering caregiving workers a long-overdue raise, stronger benefits, and the ability to collectively bargain.
