Editable layers with export function, freeform drawing, MD and block level support, all on one canvas
The search bar/function for my knowledge graph but as a standalone app on my laptop
So I can search for blocks immediately from the desktop
A digital whiteboard in my house that detects all artefacts on it (drawings, post it’s, etc) and automatically updates an online canvas so I can ‘take’ the whiteboard with me on the go and present my findings to colleagues ‘physically’
A pen that doubles as a voice recorder, connects to WiFi to send those recordings somewhere and gets it transcribed
Optional: interacts with the things written by the pen as metadata (needs scanner maybe?)
A digital display I can put on my wall that pulls up blocks from a specific page at random, so I can pull up insights around the house or have reminders/task list somewhere dedicated (like a Raspberry for thought!)
A service where a coach/health consultant collects your health analytics/data and designs a routine/diet for you at peak thinking performance
In parallel with the quality of your thinking, you work together to achieve the highest level of synthesis through physical changes
Twitter but with a public/private note function as a single toggle
Public: social media, interactive etc
Private: personal notes, drafts, etc.
Goal: recognize that conversations are merely synonyms for thinking, it all depends if you’re talking to yourself vs others
A Country for Thought
How would that look like? What are the required structures for governance?
How do you earn the right to be a citizen?
Building the actual Illuminati at this point
An immutable knowledge graph as the basis for a newfound religion
All metadata is tracked, measured, and as close to its initial objective history as possible
It would have a literal [[GENESIS BLOCK]]
eSports but for TFTs
It’s two research teams going against each other, remixing blocks, bringing in PDFs
And later on they have a pitch to present their findings and motions, and then debate with each other’s solutions
WHILE THE TEAM IS RESEARCHING ARGUMENTS IN REAL TIME
A boutique agency to help with making your graph look fabulous
Because you better spice up your thought aesthetics like DAYUM
A scouter that’s always connected to my knowledge graph, responds to voice commands and takes pictures to upload directly
Also quite sturdy so I don’t have to worry about dropping it
A physical ‘book’ made out of ultra thin LCD material in the inside so you can replicate a reading experience, but bring an entire library of books with you on the go
With optional weights, leather bound covers, etc. to make it feel like a book
And all marginalia gets uploaded
An app of my knowledge graph, conversations, recordings etc. As a museum:
If anyone needs my advice, history, thoughts and more even after my death, I can still serve and become a beacon of hope for them
My thoughts will never leave humanity
Achieving [[CULTURAL IMMORTALITY]]
A boutique translation agency focusing on knowledge projects that benefit humanity
They know every language AND know the right semantics for knowledge work
Trust them to do the documentation for anything and distribute it to every language around the world 😊
A search app that uses OCR to recognize text, objects, etc. And searches for similar results in your knowledge graph
Pull out keywords through intra-knowledge SEO and from there decide if you want to include it in
You can also use your observations to curate relevant blocks

What's the Roam42 of other apps? What other tools have Jumpnav, SB features, etc.? #roam
I've had problems with some of my general toolstack lately (eg. calendar/booking problems, tasklists) and am on the prowl for that mouseless productivity 👀
(Shoutouts to the one who designed the keyboard shortcuts for Twitter, I love blazing through this site quickly at times 😂)
EP3 of S2 is a popular one, with our beloved CSS God @AbhayPrasanna on aesthetics, sovereignty of the mind and more:
When you're doing Roam experiments: when do you start? How far do you go? When do you stop? Abhay goes into further detail on what should be prioritized and feels important in the Roam space, especially with updating CSS:
When should blocks evolve, according to @AbhayPrasanna? He shares their sources and compares the brackets to Pokemon!
"The functionality of Roam becomes an algorithm of thought in itself"
EP 2 of S2 is with the aspiring dunker turned screenwriter turned investor @jmj!
Focusing on what @RoamResearch represents from an investor's perspective, his Investor Frameworks, and more! Here are some highlights (eg. Will he hire a Chief Meme Officer?)
Ever had a 10-hour call while smoking on the porch and drinking beers? That's what happened between both Jeff and @Conaw as they talked about investing in Roam. Oh, and it was compared to Evernote too!:
Highlights from the first 3 eps incoming, starting with @cicatriz of Fractal Inquiry:
Spaced repetition through @RoamResearch is slowly getting implemented in many Roamans' workflows, and here Ryan gives us an idea of how he uses it to dive into a new field, in this example: macroeconomics!
What Ryan is interested in from @RoamResearch recently is tools for incremental reading: using a combination of spaced repetition and reading practices to get the most out of understanding a piece (PDF, video, etc.) and RECALLING what you've learned. Very important!
