A Christian missionary was sent to Assam for the promotion of religion. His name was Cruz. He came across to one the boys from an influential family in Assam to teach him English.

The pastor slowly began to study the house and he learned that the boy's grandmother was the most influential person in the house...

So he thought 'Corrupting the grandmother's mind can make the whole family Christian as well as the whole village'. The pastor began to tell Grandma the stories of how Jesus cured leprosy of lepers, how He gave sight to the blind, etc etc ...

Once a Nambudri was travelling from Tripunirura to ernakulam across the rolling hills.

That place was occupied by the notorious Moplas who were creating trouble to the government.

On the way, the Nambudri was attacked by some Moplas and money he was carrying was stolen by them.

The grief-stricken man broke his journey and rush to the palace and complained to the great King, Rama Varma - Shakthan Tamburan.

The King, took this as a challange to his governance and issued Royal order asking all the Moplas to assemble at the Palace gate. Many of them assembled there posing with an unafraid attitude.

Shakthan Tamburan appeared at the balcony.

1. HSR: Stands for Hosur, Sarjapur Road.

2. BTM: Gets its name from surrounding Byrasandra, Taverekere and Madiwala.

3. Banashankari: From the Banashankari Temple.

4. Malleshwaram: From the Kadu Malleshwara temple.

5. Majestic: From the Majestic Cinema theatre nearby.

6. Cubbon Park: Named after British administrator Mark Cubbon.

7. Jayanagar: Translates to 'Victory City' named after the first name of a famous king of Mysore, "Jayachamaraja"

8. Indiranagar: Named after Indira Gandhi.

9. Basavanagudi: Basava means bull, gudi means temple. Bull Temple
