Watching President Buhari's hard-core speech, when he talked about his civil war experience and warned trouble makers in the country that the picnic was over, i felt the steel and resolve in his voice. It was uncharacteristic of our soft spoken President.

For long Buhari's soft spoken nature was seen as a sign of weakness by Nigerians. He was ridiculed and insulted at every turn. An entire new industry was created to make a caricature of the President. We had the likes of Sahara Reporters opening stoking the flames of civil war

..we had others calling for sanctions against Nigerians. Others were vandalizing newly built rail infrastructure because it represented something they resented with a passion.

Nigerians forgot who President Buhari really is. A seasoned veteran to led the Nigerian army to uproot Chadian invaders, defied orders to halt and chase the invaders all the way

until Nigerian troops were a few kilometres shy of the Chadian capital Ndjamena.

When the President read the riot act to troublemakers and said he has given them enough time, i knew the period of patience and restraint was over. Nigerians are about to see first hand the iron and steel of the President.

But can you blame him? The more restrained and lenient

the President was, the more acts of sabotage continued. With all this madness and display of anarchy, what should a President do? Throw up his hands in surrender and tell everyone to go home in defeat and capitulation?

The Presidents patience and restraint has been exploited by so called online activists, who knowing they will get away with their actions proceed to brainwashed gullible Nigerians in their quest to drive this nation dowm the edge of a cliff. The industry was booming.

There were book deals, foreign grants, popularity, brand endorsements. The decision of the President to ban the operations of Twitter is like a slap in the wrist. Most Nigerians have a romanticized view of the civil war they are tried so hard to propagate.

..they think they will have the luxury of seeing the war from their smartphones on their beds. They actually believe there will be internet and mobile phone services.

If a war erupts, like some social media warriors are clamouring for the first thing to go will be the internet.

..followed by mobile phone services. If necessary power will be cut. There will be no networking or retweeting. The online activists and influencers would have left the country by then. It will be an experience two generations of Nigerians will have a hard time comprehending.

Some will look back at this moment with nostalgia and realize the consequences of their actions and how stupid it was to light their house on fire because they hate their parents.
