Scotland jusy put forth a motion recommending the suspension of Nigeria from the Commonwealth.

The Nigerian government has repeatedly demonstrated that it is not committed to protecting human rights.

"The Commonwealth should take a clear stand to ensure accountability of..
institutions, freedom of expression and access to information in Nigeria.”

But...its just Scotland right? No cause for alarm right?

Didnt take long for Mr Antonio Guterrez, Secretary General of the UN and Ms Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to chime in
The suspension of Twitter in Nigeria is taking place against the background of repression and harassment of media houses, and journalists who are targeted simply for performing their professional duty.”
You see where this is heading? For the past year Nigerian media houses went scorched earth on the government. They stoke identity politics, incite rebellion, insult the attack those who do not conform to their hate tactics. Spread FAKE NEWS and lies...
all these they did without the government holding these media houses accountable even with overwhelming evidence, all in the name of freedom of expression. Overnight the Nigerian media is now being harassrd and opressed?
The western powers has never reckoned with their arrogance and cruelty and how its actions affects millions. Instead, they developed a defensive mythology of western exceptionalism, leader of the free world.
The United States for instance finds it really hard to relate as a more or less “normal” country to other countries, but in their ignorance meddle into the affairs of countries, accusing countries of Human Rights violations in the most disrespectful of manners
This is bound to lead to large numbers of people having a very negative opinion of USA. There is no better example of American ignorance and arrogance as this report they issued :
" Even after the world rallied to help Nigeria rescue the 276 schoolgirls the group kidnapped in 2014, little if any headway was made in the war against terror."

... now hold on a minute. What are they talking about?
First of all the world has never rallied to help Nigeria…on the contrary the United States has used its economic and diplomatic clout to cripple Nigeria’s effort to defeat Boko Haram Contrast that with Syria during the same period, where 65 (SIXTY FIVE) nations were involved
in the fight against ISIS in Syria. America alloted $500 million to train 50 Moderate Terrorists, or what ever misnomer they choose to call it.

Know why? Because BLACK WEST AFRICA is NOT a priority.
Yet during this period Nigeria's war effort was consistently hamstrung by western interference via sanctions, arms embarg. Nigeria is not a priority, but monitoring arms sale to Nigeria and torpedoing it is too priority.
When Nigeria sealed a deal with Israel for the sale of helicopters what happened? The U.S nixed the deal over concerns the Nigerian government was not doing enough to avoid civilian casualties in its fight against Boko Haram. The U.S had the option of minding its own business
When Nigeria reached a deal with Brazil's Embrae for A-29 Super Tucanos, an aircraft optimized for COIN operations. What happened?
Thats right. Once again the U.S blocked Nigeria from acquiring the A-28 attack aircraft, considered crucial in the campaign against Boko Haram.
The Brazilians, who were initially enthusiastic about the deal, suddenly became reluctant. It was later revealed that the US had told the Brazilians, who acquired 99 of the aircraft from the US firm Sierra Nevada that the A-28 must put on hold due to human rights issues.
Enter 2021 the narrative being peddled is that the world rallied to help Nigeria locate the school girls. The West need to stop trying to reinforce the stereotype that Nigeria is a failed nation because it is not.
Lets stop deceiving ourselves. The West does not care about human rights in Nigeria. On the contrary, the last thing they want is for the lives of Nigerians to get better. They dislike Nigeria's drive to modernization and live up to its potentials.
They wish Nigeria would remain backward. Hasn't it been the core policy in recent years to force Nigeria to stop developing? Why have Western governments that supposedly promote human rights been so keen to support authoritarian leaders like we see in Chad, Cameroon,
Saudi Arabia and target democratic countries like Nigeria. Particularly in the past decade they have traded their earlier commitment to political reform for the achievement of increasingly technocratic development output.
The collusion between the West and dictators raises several questions. Why do they not only support, but also align their policy agendas with authoritarian rulers who reject the very democratic values that Western powers endorse, at least officially?
But when it comes to Nigeria, the world's 4th biggest democracy it is non stop criticism and sabotage. We have groups like Amnesty International using its operations to demoralize the soldiers fighting Boko Haram. We can have all the victory we want. Kill as many insurgents as
possible, it rarely registers or make headline news. But the monent the military suffers one setback, no matter how minut, there comes an avalanche of headlines

" Jihadist group is far from being vanquished despite governments claim"
Nigeria is facing one of its worst security challenges since independence. One would expect some modicum of support or empathy. Instead the opposite is the case.
The international response to Nigeria's spat with Twitter is hard to comprehend. You gonna sanction a nation of 200 million people over a spat with an American company? I mean..what next?..cancel or delay delivery of the Super Tucano over human rights abuses?

Ordnance unit carrying out maintenance on PL-9C air to air missiles.
Handling missiles is not your normal job for women, but in the Air Force, these type of responsibilities are earned by the high achieving women in munition maintenance
The smallest malfunction in weapons or missiles can put our airmen at risk.

Why does the Chadian army's mechanized infantry revolve around commercial Toyota 4×4 trucks?

Because in the 80s about 400 Toyota Pickups Defeated One of Africa’s Best Equip Militaries. And they stuck with it ever since.
Yes, when it comes to mobile African warfare, nothing beats the jury-rigged vehicle known as the “technical”. One critical element of Chad’s war against Libya was the use of Toyota Hilux. The Chadians did not have a conventual force, but they were provided with 400 Toyota Hilux
..that could be equipped with anti-tank missiles and heavy machine guns. The Libyan military by contrast was a fearsome, made up of made of tanks, armoured personnel carriers, modern artillery, fixed-wing jets and attack helicopters. The Libyan military on paper were formidable Image

Watching President Buhari's hard-core speech, when he talked about his civil war experience and warned trouble makers in the country that the picnic was over, i felt the steel and resolve in his voice. It was uncharacteristic of our soft spoken President. Image
For long Buhari's soft spoken nature was seen as a sign of weakness by Nigerians. He was ridiculed and insulted at every turn. An entire new industry was created to make a caricature of the President. We had the likes of Sahara Reporters opening stoking the flames of civil war
..we had others calling for sanctions against Nigerians. Others were vandalizing newly built rail infrastructure because it represented something they resented with a passion. ImageImageImageImage

People must complain. No matter what lol. On a serious note. It is possible Nigeria will not see any full scale conventional war in the traditional sense, but will have to endure conflicts where a mixture of conventional and guerrilla warfare tactics and operations are employed. ImageImageImageImage
I mean..look at the threats we face today, (Boko Haram/ Pirates)they are assymetric in nature, its no rocket science the emphasis on purpose built weapons systems with emphasis on intelligence gathering, mobility and speed.
As the army once said give us intelligence, firepower, mobility and the ability to manoeuvre and we will give you the enemy. So i see absolutely nothing wrong in the government's emphasis on aquiring ISR platforms and creating intelligence gathering institutions.

AC-130 Sceptre gunship. One of the aircraft deployed in the rescue operation for the 27 year old Philip Walton in Nigeria
The raid also included the extremely long distance movement of forces via multiple C-17A Globemaster III transport planes and the employment of both CV-22B Osprey tilt-rotors and MC-130 planes, AC-130 gunships and aerial refueling tankers.
Wondering how the U.S could deploy such an incredible amount of firepower to rescue just one man? Yet for six years have done nothing of such against ISWAP in Lake Chad?

Nigerians are quick to berate the military over its inability to stamp out bandits from forests. The sheer size of these forests are mind boggling . So vast and spread out, bandits and terrorists have found them a haven to unleash mayhem on Nigerians.
Lets start with KAMUKU and KUYAMBANA forests. The mention of these two forest creates a sense fear, being the major fortresses for bandits in the northwest. These two forests as some of the most dangerous in Nigeria and are often compared to the Sambisa forest in the northeast.
Kamuku forest alone extends to Birnin Gwari, Chikun, Kajuru and Kiwa local government areas of Kaduna State and shares boundary with Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Niger states. Kamuku and Kuyambana forests adjoin the Kamuku Park located adjacent to the Kuyambana Games Reserve.
