Good afternoon, wonderful fluffies! Simba here again, the leader of #Furry Valley. :3 #furryfandom

It seems again, a few people are confused by who we follow/block, and are trying to harass us because of it.

So, I'm going to give you all some more information. 🦁❤️ (1/11) Image
So, let's start with who we follow. We follow based on the following three criteria:

1) The person is active in FV on another platform.
2) The person interacted with us positively on Twitter.
3) The person was suggested to us by Twitter's 'suggested for you' algorithm. (2/11)
It's really that simple. We follow over 11,000 people, so obviously we don't regularly check most of their pages. It's just not possible.

Moreover, remember that follows and/or retweets are not endorsements.

"But what about X person?!" you cry; "they did X bad thing!" (3/11)
Firstly, it's honestly creepy if you stalk people's pages who you dislike that much to try to figure out if other people you know follow them. Don't do this. If you dislike someone, block them.

Secondly, Twitter/YouTube are completely invalid sources for you to make often (4/11)
deeply criminal accusations about another person.

If you genuinely believe someone is that bad, then you must report them to the police.

Don't spam on Twitter about how you hate them and how your friend follows them and that means people should hate your friend. Foolish. (5/11)
So, coming on now to who we block. This one is even simpler; two criteria:

1) The person is banned from FV on another platform.
2) The person has behaved negatively towards our members/admins/community on Twitter.

One of the things I will always find unfathomable is how (6/11)
people behave in a quite frankly despicable way towards us, and towards others, then act somehow amazed when they get blocked.

We are here to spread positivity throughout our fandom; and we do that. We aren't interested in drama, callouts or similar. We have no interest (7/11)
whatsoever in engaging with anyone behaving in that manner.

The reality is that there are ~10,000,000 furries. If a few thousand on Twitter choose to be toxic, it's their loss. What concerns us more is when popular furries set a bad example to youngsters like this. (8/11)
When you have a platform, you have an obligation - and I mean an obligation - to use it appropriately. Always remember you have, in many cases, thousands of people looking up to you. Be decent; be proper; be respectful.

Yes, you will get blocked if you comment slurs about (9/11)
our members/admins/community. Yes, you will get blocked if you are toxic, or spread false rumors (I'm not dead, not in prison, not a killer, and not on the run, to clarify a few of the ridiculous things people have claimed).

So, how should you behave on here? The same (10/11)
way you should behave if you meet someone face-to-face. With respect, kindness, and goodwill.

You do not know the vast majority of people on here *at all*. Sincere, basic decency is not a high bar. Reach it.

And if you don't, don't act surprised when you get blocked. 🦁 (11/11) Image

Hey #furry friends! Let's talk about #pride, LGB, LGBT+ and adjacent groups.

In June 1970, Brenda Howard, a bisexual New Yorker, organized the first Pride, in response to the Stonewall raids in 1969.

Her purpose was to express the notion that she - and everyone - should (1/9) Image
be able to love who she/they want to. She believed that, as long as there is no harm, that no one has the right to persecute or judge another based on the nature of their love.

Recently, a #gay man was bullied out of a #Pride parade because he was wearing a t-shirt of an (2/9) Image
organization that specifically focuses on LGB rights and equality. This is really troubling and is just one example of a problem I've seen numerous times, not just as a #furry within the #furryfandom, but more widely.

You simply cannot pick and choose. Pride, by definition (3/9) Image
