Mechanics are essential in any technological forward-thinking country, reason Canada had mechanics in thought while designing immigration pathways, these set of people in my opinion work like

robots and I do not envy a mechanic at the slightest opportunity. A red seal mechanic in Nova Scotia-Canada charges an average of $80 an hour to either look at your automobile to diagnose or fix the problem (eep me my brother isn’t a slogan) they undergo rigorous training in

classrooms and on the job (apprentice training) For the purpose of this thread, I’ll be limiting myself to established mechanics from other parts of the world (Nigeria to my heart)
I’ll categorize these groups into two:
1.Mechanic through education.

2.Mechanic through apprentice.

THINGS REQUIRED:
1.Mechanic through education (Degree holders, Diploma holders, Technical colleges: You’ll need to get your highest qualification evaluated to commensurate with Canadian standard with any of the 5 accredited agencies namely;

* World Education Services (WES)
* International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS),
* Comparative Education Service (CES), University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
* International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)

* International Credential Evaluation Service.
Have a suitable language proficiency score in English/French measured by CLB LEVEL 4 WRITING AND SPEAKING, READING, AND LISTENING 5
Have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer for 1 year at least OR a certificate of

qualification from a provincial body: This area is in two folds of either, you either get employment which is an uphill task in my opinion, but the “qualification from a provincial body is achievable through determination and more research (Not for feint hearted) these are the

provincial bodies:
* nsapprenticeship.ca/get-started/tr…
* saskapprenticeship.ca/designated-tra…
* collegeoftrades.ca/trade-assessme…
* provincial certificate of qualification for mechanics – (search with corresponding province name)
(Please You will need to follow their requirements, and obtain the certificate

of qualification)
Once all required are gathered, please proceed to enter your expression either with the federal express entry or province (I know Saskatchewan have this as one of their occupation in demand)

Could demonstrate skills and experience in your trade – You can have

this based on a certificate obtained from the provincial certification body
Have at least 2 years of work experience before applying – Almost all mechanics I know have and meet up with this requirement.
2. Mechanic through apprentice: All you need to do here is go to d authorized

department in Nigeria (Ministry of labour) and apply for TRADES TEST CERTIFICATE to prove your apprentice/skill, but you are still required to prove your language proficiency, and obtain as well a provincial certificate of qualification, the difference here is you cannot get into

the federal express entry (technical) pool due to education requirement, but pretty sure you can get into Saskatchewan PNP.
