Local policymakers, do you think that by failing to effectively enforce laws against public camping, drug sales and abuse, and shoplifting, you are doing the homeless any favors? Is this “humane”? Homelessness is an evil and your lax policies have made it spread uncontrolled.👇
It’s a mental health issue? Yes. And do you think it is conducive to mental health to live in a society breaking apart at the seams because the “authorities” think anarchy is humane? If you had nowhere else to go but insane tent cities, your mental health would be strained, too.
For the “homeless,” insanity is rife; yet your policies put the insane on the streets.
Drugs absolutely ruin their lives; but your policies make drugs cheaper, more plentiful, and in “liberal” youth culture you lionize, “cool.”
You act as if you hate them. This isn’t humane.
Your residents and shop owners complain bitterly about spiralling crime and property values, and you wring your hands sympathetically, yet you shockingly and incredibly fail to draw any connection between your own irresponsible laxity and the social devastation it causes.
The solution to the homelessness explosion is not merely or mainly to give these people housing. That is a childish and simple-minded band-aid solution.
You need to attack the problem at its root.
The problem is this: (a) these people cannot or will not live in the complex, demanding systems of modern life, while (b) you allow them to sink further into chaos on the margins of that modern life, and (c) you make the chaos worse by removing the last checks on it.
Some people are so poorly-trained, disturbed, or corrupted that they cannot participate in the life you policymakers take for granted. Letting them commit crimes—creating a whole underclass of outcasts—only makes them more disturbed and corrupted. This is the opposite of humane.

"Prosecutors accuse Nygard of running a decades-long sex trafficking scheme in which he lured dozens of women and minors to his properties to have sex with him, his friends, and his business partners."
"Vanity Fair once described Nygard as a hard-partying 'Hugh Hefner of down-market retail.'" He must be so proud.
Gosh! Only 679 flu deaths since Oct. 2020? What are the odds? I am shocked—shocked! The only possible explanation: all that masking & lockdowning stopped this formerly deadly disease! Yay!
What I want to know is, when are we going to investigate those people who *should have known* that mass flu-season masking could have prevented so many deaths?!
I mean, if only we had known! So many unnecessary deaths wouldn't have happened!
Gracious indeed! Well, isn't that special? Facebook thought-policed a theory, until they didn't. This little incident underscores and cements the truly disgusting advent of censorship and thought control by social media giants.
Just one reason I avoid Facebook whenever possible.
It's hard to believe they are listening to themselves.
"We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge."
In other words: we're updating our censorship rules.
And this is supposed to be normal and acceptable.
People, it isn't. It is twisted and, not to put too nice a word on it, evil.
It's evil, because of the evil that the very existence of such power can and inevitably will be used for.
Crypto folks, #Binance haters, @binance, @BinanceUS—I solved my problem in a way nobody told me about, which I had to figure out for myself. I went to my "Balance" page and found a "Trade" link. There, I was able to trade into dollars, and now my $NANO is now in $$$.
I feel stupid, but not *too* stupid because, well, nobody told me this was possible (if it was).
BTW I doubled my money.
Hey Binance corporate jerks: WHY AREN'T YOU TELLING UPSET $NANO INVESTORS THIS IS POSSIBLE?
For shame, really. I'll never use your service again.
Self-righteous vaxxed pro-maskers: will they still wear masks, because it makes them feel so righteous?
Tired, vaxxed true believers, reaaally ready to de-mask: will they resent all the people they know aren’t vaccinated, who aren’t wearing a mask? Oh yeah.
Anti-Covid vaxxers: will welcome a chance at a reprieve, but now will face questions and deep hostility from those who paid their dues by taking a risky vaccine, who loathe skeptics.
Some will wear masks anyway, just to avoid conflict.
True or false: It’s important that we essentially leave each other alone, not try to change each other too much.
...except for evangelizing.
...except for carbon footprint reduction, wearing masks, and getting vaccinated, and a few other things like that. It’s good to try to change people that way.
