Comprehensive Guidelines for Management of #COVID19 patients has been released by Director-General for Health Services (#DGHS), @MoHFW_INDIA.

Depending upon the severity of symptoms, it guides how to treat, investigate & monitor patients.

The guideline categorises the possible symptoms of #COVID19 for patients with Asymptomatic, Mild, Moderate or Severe symptoms.

For Asymptomatic & Mildly ill- Home isolation for care recommended.

For Home Care Tips to manage COVID19 by @PrinSciAdvOff:
For patients with Mild Symptoms, the guideline details a #selfcare performa for Self-monitoring for fever, breathlessness, SpO2, BP or worsening of any symptoms.

If symptoms persist or worsen, further medical investigations may be required.

Guidelines include instructions on 6-minute walk test.

Early admission to hospital [for observation & oxygen supplementation] is recommended for Patients with a positive 6-minute walk test.

CAUTION: Not for patients with uncontrolled asthma, pregnant women, older than 70 years.
#COVID19 Appropriate Behaviour & Cough etiquettes MUST for all types of patients.

IMPORTANT: Any oxygen support, Therapy or Lab investigations to be done in a hospital setting as per the guidance of the treating physician ONLY!

Physicians are advised to exercise extreme caution with Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) drug #Remdesivir & Off-label drug #Tocilizumab.

ONLY for severe and critically ill patients of #COVID19, that too in specific conditions mentioned in the DGHS @MoHFW_INDIA Guideline
Guidelines for use of #Steroids

- Indicated ONLY in hospitalized moderately severe and critically ill #COVID19 cases

- HARMFUL in asymptomatic and mild cases

- Should be used at the Right Time, in Right dose and for Right duration

-Self-medication of steroids MUST be avoided
Rational use of a High-Resolution CT (HRCT) scan of chest is recommended.

HRCT chest scan should not be done for the purpose of diagnosing/ screening Covid-19 infection.

CAUTION: Radiation exposure due to repeated HRCT imaging may be associated with risk of cancer later in life
The guideline details #Mucormycosis- the fungal disease- with its causes, signs, symptoms, diagnosis and management.

Mode of infection - inhalation of fungal spores from air.

It is NOT contagious.

Timely initiation of #blackfungustreatment can reduce mortality.

घर पर कोविड19 को प्रबंधित करने के उपायों के लिए:
