ALERT: Doug Jensen, one of highest profile Jan 6 defendants, files new motion seeking RELEASE from jail

He's the man accused of facing off w/ lone officer outside Senate

His motion... is quite something. Criticizing Trump, explaining QAnon & calling himself victim

Doug Jensen of Iowa is accused of leading the 1st wave toward US Senate, with pocketknife in his possession

Feds allege Jensen "wanted Q to get credit" & "wanted to stop this crap with Mike Pence", urging police to arrest Members of Congress

Feds say Jensen admitted being "firm believer" in QAnon, proponent of Donald Trump declaring martial law and said Biden's election was "fraudulent"

But ... wait till you see how Jensen responds....

Jensen says *he* is the victim of "numerous conspiracy theories" .. and that the pocketknife was for protection at the Trump rally

There's more.... so much more...

Jensen's motion accused US Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman of being a "threat" and wielding baton "over Jensen's head"

Then ... he takes argument in different direction...

Jensen says "no one could have predicted the events of late 2020, culminating on Jan 6"

He cites "billionaire reality TV host", George Orwell's 1984, "media lies" and Alex Haley

Doug Jensen, who allegedly led the mob on Jan 6 outside the Senate, then says he went to the Capitol at the direction of Donald Trump ... to demonstrate he was a true patriot... but now feels deceived by a "pack of lies"

Jensen is seeking release from the DC jail, where he says he's "languished" for six months (I'll note: the Insurrection was five months ago)

And that he wants to get his affairs in order for "resolution" of his case (which could indicate possible plea deal)

Senate Rules Committee investigation of failures on Jan 6 shows series of mistakes that exposed officers

Failure by Capitol Police intelligence division to convey warning that people were sharing maps of the Capitol on-line ahead of Jan 6

Senate report says some of the officers had to fight back against Insurrectionists in their daily uniforms, without riot gear or helmets

(The report reiterates a troubling finding from earlier this year - riot gear was locked in a bus nearby and officers couldn't get into it)

This passage in Senate investigation is striking: " Of USCP’s 1840 sworn officers, only approximately 160
are trained in advanced civil disturbance tactics & use of “hard” protective equipment. Fewer than ten are trained to use USCP’s full suite of less-than-lethal
munitions"

!!! ALERT- US Capitol Police officer knocked unconscious (allegedly by defendant Ryan Samsel) on Jan 6 issues statement to court. Cites ongoing head injury, fainting spells... then she asks court NOT to release Samsel from federal custody (thread)

Officer said this, in written statement to Samsel: "You have stolen moments away from me.. that I cannot get back"

"You stole months of me working alongside the country's most dedicated police officers"

Rep Eric Swalwell (D-CA) filed suit against Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani & Rep Mo Brooks (R-AL) alleging they helped incite insurrection

But there's a hurdle in suing Rep. Brooks ...

Swalwell's attorney says calls were made to two different Brooks' staffers, but a "promised" return call didn't come

The filing just submitted in the Jan 6 prosecution of Ryan Samsel of Pennsylvania might be the most striking, horrific and brutal accusations I've read so far in *any* of these 460+ cases.

Ryan Samsel had been accused of knocking over barrier & police officer on Jan 6, knocking her unconscious

Last week, Samsel requested release from DC jail, citing injuries he allegedly suffered in beating there
