Unless you understand why Modi is so popular, you'll not be able to replace him with someone either to the left or right of him. Plenty of people to the Right of him have grouse with him as well (with good reason one might add) but the critic often tends to ignore the good.
You may be happy or angry with him but one cannot deny that he has had a great positive impact on the lives of millions and millions of people. Millions have received LPG gas and toilets for the first time since independence. This is not something that is to be taken lightly.
On a personal note, it is after the BJP came to power that broad gauge railway has become operational in the state. We have been hearing this sinc 2009 that it will become operational but it only happened in 2018/19 iirc. May not be important for ideology but it is important.
Narendra Modi enjoys great goodwill because he has genuinely helped people fulfill their dreams. There may be others who are ideologically more radical but unless they have a pathway to improve the lives of people, ideological clarity is meaningless. They will only lead to doom.
Ideological clarity without administrative capabilities only leads to anarchy. And there cannot be any doubts that governance wise, he is the best we have right now. Are there aspects regarding which I am not satisfied with his performance? Definitely. Economy is one such.
But all things considered, I do genuinely believe that no government could have handled Covid-19 better than him. Wisdom appears obvious only in hindsight. Economy too, we were okay until the pandemic hit, certainly could have been better.
People can voice their anger and frustration in a Democracy. No one should have problem with citizens expressing dissatisfaction with their Prime Minister. At the time same, it is alright for people to point out the flaw in critics' logic. It does not make them "IT Cell".
Ultimately, no one owes their vote to any party. Every party has to win each and every vote. I believe Narendra Modi has been a great positive force for this country, others are free to disagree. A difference of opinion is not a verdict on our integrity. All of us have one vote.
I will also say this: There's never been a better time to be an Indian than right now, especially as a Hindu. There are great challenges ahead, yes, but we do have the strength to overcome them. During every moment of crisis, Hindus have risen to face the odds. So shall we.
Young ones who feel gloomy about the future often lack a sense of perspective. Imagine growing up in a License Raj with endless caste wars and religious riots combined with endemic poverty and terrorist movements at their peak. Yeah, that was merely 30 years ago.
We have covered a great distance within 30 years and we have many a miles more to go. There is so much frustration now because people's ambitions are far higher now. And this is good, people are beginning to expect great things from India. All great things start with a dream.
This is the beginning of the India story. Things will only get better. With a stable government at the center, India will improve with leaps and bounds over the next decade. Again, you don't have to agree with any of this. It's just the personal opinion of an irrelevant bloke.

Khalsa Aid will start Rocket Langar at Gaza Strip
Any moment now
There's only one way to stop the carnage now. Indian Supreme Court will have to take suo moto cognizance of the Israel-Palestine crisis and pass an order ordering immediate ceasefire.
Only worry is that Hamas and Israelis may pay 1 rupee and continue the Insta Rocket Battle.
Babul Supriyo would have traveled to Gaza Strip and solved the Israel-Palestine conflict once and for all if only Netanyahu could guarantee that his car wouldn't suffer scratches.
Are we simply going to ignore the fact that scientists lied about the origins of Covid-19? They said that it definitely came from the wild without any evidence.
I am not saying I want them punished. But if we are speaking of accountability, why shouldn't they be held accountable?
Fauci, on record, has done flip flops on masks. Fauci has lied about funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. And yet, the media continues to paint him as hero. Not just western media, which are Dem-controlled. But even Indian media!
The Lancet published a bullshit Hydroxychloroquine study they had to later retract. Months later, they are playing politics and blaming political parties for the crisis. And yet, no one bats an eye!
How can scientists be trusted if bullshitters are not held accountable?
People are not taking authorities seriously about masking and stuff because authorities have bullshitted so wildly since the beginning of the pandemic that people think everything they say is proper bullshit.
There were articles in the media, both foreign and domestic, saying that India had managed to avoid Covid because implementation of masking policy. It was proper bullshit, everyone knew it was bullshit. You think people will take masking seriously after that?
Numerous restrictions were placed on Durga Pujo and Diwali at a time when cases were going down. When restrictions were violated, there was endless screeching about impending doom due to the "Covidiots". But cases did not go up, they went down. Bullshitting has consequences.
Now we are in a situation where too many believe, "No, thanks, I will take my chances with Covid."
India has been living under heightened Covid stress since March last year. You expect people to live under constant stress for 12 months straight and still take Covid restrictions seriously? At some point, people will just say fuck it and there's nothing you can do about it.
The Twitter Demography is overwhelmingly from the Ultra Rich, Rich and Upper Middle class sections of society and yet, every policy has been designed keeping in mind the elite sections of this particular westernised elite demography.
The Age of the Aantel is Over. The Age of the Bhodrolok is upon us.
Bengali Hindu politics has always been dominated by Bhodroloks, from the late 19th Century to well after independence. The Aantels took over a couple of decades after the independence era and that era has continued yet. On the 2nd of May, all of that could change.
The Aantels, themselves, are Bhodroloks who have gone over to the dark side. The Bhodroloks, after the set back, have expanded their base and look poised to storm back into power.
Ashok Singhal: His father was in the Indian Civil Service. He got a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical engineering from the BHU. And it was all before he joined the VHP in any significant position. He was not a "subaltern" by any stretch of imagination.
The RSS Chief at the time was Madhukar Dattatreya Deoras. Again, he had an LLB Degree from the University of Nagpur. He went to "New English High School" in his childhood. Again, not a subaltern by any stretch of imagination.
