Volker, it seems, overtly lied in his public Nov '19 testimony (not just in his Oct. deposition justsecurity.org/67314/chart-si…) And he lied about knowing that Giuliani had pushed Ukraine for a quid pro quo: investigate Biden and you get normal relations. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
Even now, this still matters. Volker misled not just Congress but the public about the Ukraine scandal. And his phony claims muddled the already confusing issue and fed the idea that there is no truth, just partisan assertion.
A few days before Volker fibbed his way through his televised testimony to the Intelligence Committee, one of Roger's Stone's prosecutors, responding to the claim that lying to Congress doesn't matter, made a good case for why it's a big deal, and a crime. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…

CNN's report this week on a July 2019 call in which Giuliani pressured Ukraine's government to announce an investigation into Biden wasn't just bad for Rudy. It also revealed that former Ambassador Kurt Volker made false statements to Congress. motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
In his public 11/19/19 testimony Volker said: "At no time was I aware of or knowingly took part in an effort to urge Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Biden." False. In a July 2019 call Volker took part in, Giuliani pressed a Zelensky aide for a Biden investigation.
Republicans cited Volker's inaccurate testimony to defend Trump in 2019. Lindsey Graham: “Volker, the special envoy, said there was no quid pro quo...I find the whole process to be a sham and I’m not going to legitimize it.” Jim Jordan made the same claim: foxnews.com/media/rep-jord…

Back in March, we reported a video that showed a bunch of Oath Keepers who later stormed the Capitol taking a firearms training course. motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
Most of these Oath Keepers had already been charged with conspiracy in March. But one guy who part of the training and stormed the Capitol was still uncharged/unidentified, despite holding up a certificate with his name on it during the firearms training.
In a new indictment Sunday, prosecutors charged four more Oath Keepers including Joseph Hackett, a chiropractor from Sarasota, Fla. He was the unidentified guy at the firearms training and in the "stack" of Oath Keepers who stormed the Capitol on 1/6. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

In reporting on Giuliani's alleged work as a unregistered agent for foreign interests, and talking to him a bit, I was struck by his arrogance. He didn't seem to understand FARA. And he just blew off questions. nytimes.com/2021/04/28/nyr…

Giuliani's former pals, Parnas and Fruman got Giuliani to endorse a company called Fraud Guarantee for $500,000 - money they raised by persuading one "investor" to pay Rudy directly. They were later indicted for defrauding that guy, it appears, and others. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
