soooo as i expected, people ive known for a long time are cutting me off for being too aggressive or too passionate or making them think about their characters too much

idk why this tweet is getting traction, but i think. the past two days... ive come to several conclusions

- racism in au ra rp circles exists because of attitudes that enable it. if people were willing to correct their friends, the character in my post never wouldve been written

- lot of people have been taking digs at me for not "being more civil", for "targeting all roleplayers", for "starting unnecessary drama", for... a lot of things i didnt do or say. this only proves Exactly how necessary the conversation i started was. i will not delete my thread

im fortunate in that this doesnt directly affect me. all of the poc who tried telling you guys this shit before have gotten accused of harassment, shouted down, and forced to hide in fear on the sidelines. we created this problem. we need to fix it.

if the answer to conquering racism was being nice, it'd be a thing if the past. take it from Any activist. it's an uphill battle. and it shouldnt have to be

all i asked was for people to reflect on their own writing and notice racist trends in the community. thats it

so yeah... keep putting words in my mouth and getting aggressive with me

i have my own life and own friends. dont need it, and wont hear it anymore. im disappointed in people who ignored what i said to victimize themselves, but im moving on.

and if youre wondering... yes, ive tried talking privately to multiple people to explain my post/educate and not attack. ive offered to open my dms to people who want to understand. id like to think ive been pretty reasonable. but heres where that has gotten me. just a Glimpse

i want people to understand that these are risks i knowingly and willingly take when i speak out on a subject thats important. this is what happens to Anybody who questions fandom status quo, or Dares to point out a lot of people are made uncomfortable by racist writing patterns
