My father died from progressive supranuclear palsy, which is a disease with no meaningful treatment or cure. He had great "health insurance", but truth be told, nothing will ever be done to solve these diseases with low ROI due to such a small community has it.

No amount of state based initiatives could have saved his life. Only real, deep, public investment in cures vs treatment at the Federal level could do this. We need ouf Federal Government to do its job.
My son is autistic. His support was left to state based solutions. They were underfunded, understaffed and we went years without services.
There are short cut artists that would have you believe that state based solutions are the correct path forward, they are wrong.
States are stretched to the breaking point. As currency users, they are struggling with diminished tax base, revenues and ultimately left to austerity
Not sure folks REALLY get this or worse, even WANT to get it. They were too lazy to dig into the #MMT efforts thousands of progressive activists have devoted their lives to. NO, these folks make enemies of the activists, save for a few bad faith actors behaving as opportunists.
There is a lot of lying in describing the positions of the #MMT activists who have fought desperately to explain the issues only to be denigrated and the use of emotional outbursts and slander to cancel people fighting for economic justice. Which includes Healthcare as a right.

If you hate the Democratic Party, hate the duopoly. Want Medicare for All, a Green New Deal & a functioning Democracy, you need to realize we're in the midst of a civil war NOW. TODAY! That SHOULD make you live like a combatant Not a civilian.
That means you show up daily, READY!
That means you show up ready to do things you don't like to necessarily do. It means you learn things you never learned before. Things that bore you, you dig into.
70% of ALL Americans want Medicare for all. Sadly, of the people that make up the 70%, only 1% actually understand how it should be funded and worse, most have zero understanding that the deflationary bias of #M4A will require a TAX cut. No pay fors. Why is that? #MMT
That's completely FREE to the patients. No tax hikes required. None.
There is no money "laying around" by cutting spending. Spending is always a decision. But it doesn't have any impact on affordability. The US, as with the UK, Australia, Japan and China, creates currency every time it spends and deletes currency every single time it taxes.

At some point, the issue comes down to do we have the real resources or not?
Do we have the political will to do it?
Do we have the ability to do whatever it is we are attempting to prioritize.
Cutting the military budget is great for moral reasons but affordability must absolutely NEVER be the fake excuse for doing it.
That false paradigm keeps us from a Green New Deal. It keeps us from Medicare for All... and it keeps us from ever shedding the burden of student debt.
With so much dunking & claptrapping going on, should be interesting to see how this movement will ever fight against the state by state race to the bottom. So many of our states are in the red and slashing services. The movement has a responsibility to be steadfast in that fight
Wish I didn't know this stuff. Oh to be of the unburdened mind...
Happy to have ANYONE that disagrees with this explain in non-emotional terms and with understanding what I get wrong. Or.. A rare admission that I am correct.
If a politician at the Federal Level asks "how are we gonna pay for it?" they are a murderer. There is absolutely no excuse for ignorance at this point. They are not just "ignorant", they are a traitor and a terrorist.
It is a tool to ensure we are incapable of survival. Physics does not negotiate and their insistence on austerity will leave us dead.
Are there some GENUINELY just not aware? Sure, but it is few and far between. The vast majority fully know and refuse to move forward in defense of humanity
