By prioritizing this child welfare provider’s religious beliefs & allowing this provider to discriminate, the Court has in effect called into question whether LGBTQ children’s needs will be met by families who are willing, able and qualified to provide that care.
While we are relieved this decision was narrowly focused on the facts of this particular case, we cannot be complacent.
We know too well that those who advocate for "religious liberty" to be a blanket license to discriminate will not stop here.
We also know all too well that any individual who interacts with taxpayer-funded social services, including food banks and homeless shelters, already faces too many barriers to receiving the care they deserve.
Religious freedom in this society is crucial, but we cannot allow this freedom to be corrupted into yet another barrier placed in front of LGBTQ children, religious minorities, people of color, and so many others.
As Jews, we often pray for a "sukkot shalom" – a shelter of peace – to be spread over all the world so that no one has to live in fear.
The 400,000+ children & teens in foster care deserve loving & caring homes, but the SCOTUS decision in this case makes it harder for them.
It is critical that Congress acts to prevent further harm.
We call on the Senate to swiftly send the Equality Act to the President’s desk and for both chambers to pass the Do No Harm Act and Every Child Deserves a Family Act as soon as possible.

To address antisemitic violence, we need to confront those responsible for using antisemitism to manufacture fear & division.
We shouldn't legalize definitions that can serve as diversions from threats we face or be used to attack free speech of activists & entire communities.
We need a multi-pronged approach that uses the existing tools of government, as well as structural reforms that ensure a thriving & inclusive democracy where every single one of us is safe, no matter our race, class, or faith.

Madison Cawthorn just got caught launching a racist attack website against a journalist & Cory Booker.
10 of his former classmates signed a letter about his predatory behavior towards women.
He's best known for his trip to Hitler's vacation home.
This is what the GOP embraces.
Cawthorn, a GOP candidate in North Carolina, created an attack website accusing a journalist of leaving a job “to work for non-white males, like Cory Booker, who aims to ruin white males running for office.”
BREAKING: The Trump campaign is running Facebook ads portraying Bernie Sanders as the puppet master behind Joe Biden.
There’s a long, dangerous history of Jews being scapegoated as all-powerful puppet masters.
Trump is using this antisemitic lie to spread fear & division.
The "puppet master” characterization has been used to present Jews as shadowy manipulators, secretly orchestrating events on the political or financial main stage.
It is an age-old antisemitic trope — one that has been used in Nazi propaganda & continues to be used to this day.
Conspiracy theories about Jewish “puppet masters” motivated white nationalist shooters in Pittsburgh, Poway, El Paso, & Christchurch.
This deadly impact hasn’t stopped Trump & his GOP enablers from repeating them in order to divide us & hold on to power.
