Cases of the Delta variant are spreading across Wales. In the space a few weeks, cases have been confirmed in all parts of the country.
We have reviewed all the evidence and will pause changes to the rules for 4 weeks.
More info in the thread below⬇️
The delta variant is now the most dominant form of the virus in Wales. But we still have the lowest coronavirus rates and the highest vaccination rates in the UK.
We will use the next 4 weeks to vaccinate even more people.
There will be no major changes over the next 4 weeks, but we'll be making some small changes to the current rules.
The number of people who can attend indoor weddings or civil partnership receptions or wakes, organised by a business will be determined by the size of the venue.
We will also clarify in the rules that small grassroots music and comedy venues can operate on the same basis as other hospitality venues.
And we will continue with our planned pilot events in June and July.
We have already reached our target of offering all eligible adults a 1st dose ahead of schedule. But offers don’t protect people – having the vaccine does.
Getting two doses offers us all the best protection. I encourage everyone to take up the offer when invited.
As always, I will provide more information and answer questions from journalists in my press conference at 12:15 tomorrow on @WelshGovernment.
Diolch for everything you continue to do to keep Wales safe.

Mae achosion o'r amrywiolyn Delta yn lledaenu ledled Cymru. Dros ychydig o wythnosau, mae achosion wedi'u cadarnhau ym mhob rhan o'r wlad.
Rydym wedi adolygu'r holl dystiolaeth a byddwn yn oedi newidiadau i'r rheolau am bedair wythnos. Mwy o wybodaeth isod⬇️
Yr amrywiolyn delta yw'r amrywiad amlycaf o'r firws yng Nghymru bellach. Er hyn, mae gennym y cyfraddau coronafirws isaf a'r cyfraddau brechu uchaf yn y DU.
Byddwn yn defnyddio'r pedair wythnos nesaf i frechu hyd yn oed mwy o bobl.
Ni fydd unrhyw newidiadau mawr dros y 4 wythnos nesaf, ond byddwn yn gwneud man newidiadau i'r rheolau presennol.
Bydd nifer pobl gall fynychu dderbyniadau priodas a phartneriaeth sifil dan do a drefnir gan fusnes, yn dibynnu ar faint y lleoliad.
Thanks to the fantastic team effort across Wales to keep each other safe, coronavirus cases remain stable.
We have the headroom to make further changes to the restrictions and start a phased move to Alert Level 1.
I’ll outline some of the changes in the thread below.
From Monday, up to 30 people can meet outdoors (including in gardens), but we must continue to be careful.
We’re also increasing the numbers for organised outdoor activities and events – this means things like organised group runs, outdoor sports and concerts.
Up to 3 households will be able to form an extended household and have a support bubble, but remember – meeting outdoors is safe than indoors.
Our phased approach to moving to Alert Level 1 means that initially outdoor events will begin again and more people can meet outside.
Oherwydd eich ymdrech chi fel tîm ledled Cymru i ddiogelu pawb, mae’r achosion coronafeirws yn parhau’n sefydlog.
Mae gennym le i wneud newidiadau pellach i’r cyfyngiadau, a dechrau’r broses o symud i Lefel Rhybudd 1.
Byddaf yn tynnu sylw at rai o’r newidiadau yn y neges yma.
O ddydd Llun, gall hyd at 30 o bobl gwrdd yn yr awyr agored (gan gynnwys mewn gerddi), ond rhaid parhau i fod yn ofalus.
Rydym hefyd yn cynyddu’r niferoedd mewn digwyddiadau a gweithgareddau wedi’u trefnu yn yr awyr agored - fel rhedeg mewn grwpiau, chwaraeon a chyngherddau.
Bydd hyd at 3 cartref yn gallu ffurfio aelwyd estynedig a chael swigen gefnogaeth, ond cofiwch - mae cwrdd yn yr awyr agored yn fwy diogel na chwrdd dan do.
Mae’r broses raddol yma yn golygu bydd digwyddiadau awyr agored yn cael ailddechrau a mwy o bobl yn cael cwrdd tu allan.
Thanks to a real team effort across Wales, coronavirus cases remain stable. We have the headroom to continue our careful, step-by-step approach to relaxing restrictions.
In this thread I’ll outline the next set of changes that will come into effect from tomorrow.
Our amazing tourism sector will begin to re-open. We’ll start by lifting the stay local rule and enabling self-contained accommodation to open to people living in Wales from the same household or support bubble.
We’re also changing the rules to enable organised outdoor activities and sports for under-18s to restart and from tomorrow up to six people from two different households can meet outdoors, not including children under 11.
Diolch i’ch gwaith caled chi, mae’r achosion coronafeirws yn parhau'n sefydlog. Rydym felly yn gallu parhau i lacio cyfyngiadau gam wrth gam.
Yn yr edefyn isod, rwy’n amlinellu'r set nesaf o newidiadau a ddaw i rym o yfory.
O yfory, bydd ein sector twristiaeth yn dechrau ailagor. Byddwn yn dechrau trwy godi'r rheol aros yn lleol a galluogi llety hunangynhwysol i agor drigolion Cymru o'r un aelwyd neu swigen gefnogaeth.
Rydym hefyd yn newid y rheolau i ganiatáu gweithgareddau awyr agored i bobl o dan 18 oed. Gall hyd at chwech o bobl o ddwy aelwyd wahanol hefyd gwrdd yn yr awyr agored o yfory ymlaen, heb gynnwys plant dan 11.
