Very rare photo of Yogi Adityanath, initiated as a Sanyasi at 21yrs. Generally, youngsters in their early 20s would be thinking of making money, enjoying etc. But here was a young karma-yogi who had decided to give up everything in the quest for service & spirituality.

Born as Ajay Singh in a humble family, he was highly talented right from his childhood, and loved science & mathematics. In fact, such was his fascination towards the world of calculus and trigonometry that he went on to obtain BSc degree in mathematics, with flying colors!

But soon after graduation, he started feeling something was missing in the conventional world, as the aura of spirituality had already started enveloping his life, and had started making inroads into his deeper consciousness.

It was at that juncture when he decided to become a disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath (who was the head of Gorakhnath Math) at the tender age of 21, was soon initiated as Sanyasi, and was given the name "Yogi Adityanath".

As a revered Saint, he started visiting villages, to listen to their problems & serve them, because he believed that service & spirituality need not be exclusive, but can complement each other, which is actually the true nature of a genuine karma-yogi.

Within years, not only was he able delve deeply into spirituality, but also managed to serve millions, and thanks to the encouragement by Mahant Avaidyanath, he took his efforts to a whole new level, by contesting elections to further serve the people.

Such was his popularity among the masses that when he was still in his mid 20s, he had already won people's mandate, to become the youngest MP in Loksabha, and the rest is history.
