Most of us have might have already read about the "secularization" of Kerala, where youngsters are being radic∆lized to such an extent that many have been joining global Izl∆mic forces in the Middle East.

One of the main reasons for it is the disproportionately high percentage of Muzl!m population (a whopping 35%). But one thing which intrigues many is: How did Kerala end up with such high percentage of Muzl!m population.

The simple answer to it is: Tipu Sultan.

Almost 2.5 centuries ago, Tipu Sultan, who ruled significant parts of Deccan, had cherished the dream of establishing an Izl∆mic Caliphate. Hence he embarked on a journey of conquering neighboring territories and using threats to convert them en-masse into his religion.

Kerala, which comprised of Malabar & Travancore regions, were the highly acclaimed targets which had to bear the brunt of his gruesome dream, which culminated into the set of events called Mysorean invasions of Kerala.

During these invasions, Tipu mercilessly m∆ssacred thousands of high class Hindus, to set an example to the rest of the population (i.e. instill fear in them) and went on to use force against lakhs of innocents to convert.

In fact, Tipu considered these as some sort of achievement and actually went on to write extensive letters to his fellow Sultans in Middle East, whose documented records (in his own handwriting, on official papers), are still available today.

For example, in one such Farsi/Urdu official document, we can see Tipu himself boasting that by the grace of almighty, he was able to convert 4 lakh Malabar Hindus into his religion in just a single day!

This is just the tip of the iceberg, and one can only imagine the plight of those masses and extent of conversions.

That's how Kerala ended up with such disproportionately high percentage of Izl∆mic population, and over time, have gradually got radic∆lized through h0ly books and global discourses.

And that's what really makes history interesting, because for every intriguing question we have in today's world, we can find answers which can be traced back to just a few centuries.

However, what's really surprising is the way in which our elected representatives of the 20th century had been hiding all these from us, and had instead desperately tried to portray Tipu as secular, tolerant, etc, all in the name of secularism!

It is high time our school textbooks are revamped and students are taught true facts, since the very purpose of learning history, is to learn from past mistakes so that we don't repeat them in future.
