Lee Smith has interesting article on Vorontsov Affidavit. Reasonable people can disagree on interpretation of these murky events and I disagree totally on most of Lee's interpretation, while also being glad that he commented on document.
Lee asks the same question that I began asking a couple of days ago: it is astounding that FBI was asking a Danchenko sub-source about Danchenko seven months before Danchenko named Vorontsov as a sub-source.
Lee notes (as both of us have long said) that Steele's instantaneous, too instantaneous, "intelligence" was only possible because it was fabricated. Bespoke intel porn, so to speak.
I strongly disagree with the premise of Lee's rhetorical question "did it [FBI] help create them?". It creates an implausible straw man that will distract from more realistic and perhaps even more important line of inquiry.
My own surmise is that Danchenko was NOT on FBI's radar in June 2020 because of Steele dossier assignment. At the time, the first dossier memorandum hadn't even been written. I think that Danchenko was on FBI radar because his multiple trips to Russia and shady employment in
shady employment in the US attracted attention of FBI counterintel (which didn't know that Danchenko was involved in private espionage for Christopher Steele and Orbis.) For all we know right now, Vorontsov (who appears to have been in the know on Danchenko's connection to Orbis)
Vorontsov may well have told the FBI about Danchenko's connection to Steele (as FN speculated yesterday).
It's possible, even probable, that it took FBI a while to connect the counterintel concerns about Danchenko from June 2016 to the PSS of the Steele dossier. But one assumes that all of this would have been immediately retrievable from FBI database in Steele or Danchenko search
that FBI concealed their June 2016 investigation of Danchenko and their June 2016 interview of Vorontsov for four years, despite intense scrutiny, speaks volumes of FBI duplicity in this sordid affair.
that FBI gave Barr and Ratcliffe a tired 2009 report on Danchenko, while withholding a June 2016 report on Danchenko and Vorontsov that was current as the dossier was being written, shows the extremity of their duplicity.
my other beef with Lee's interpretation is his attempt to connect these various misconducts to getting "a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump team". I've complained endlessly about over-emphasis on the Page FISA as a supposed cause celebre and overemphasis on "spying",
the main line of the resistance narrative was through the ICA, which had nothing to do with FISA or "spying", but everything to do with fomenting resistance against and destabilizing the incoming administration. If 10% of the interest in the esoteric FISA issues were allocated
to the resistance between the inauguration and the Mueller appointment, understanding would be much improved.

@shipwreckedcrew the "Russian guy" was the person to whom Danchenko attributed pee tape story. And the FBI interviewed him about Danchenko within (literally) one week, maximum two, of the supposed exchange of "information" about pee tape. So yes, files need to be searched.
@shipwreckedcrew 2/ furthermore, when Crossfire Hurricane analysts learned that Danchenko was Steele's Primary Sub-Source in late Dec/early Jan, it is inconceivable that they didn't search "Danchenko" name in FBI files. If they didn't, FBI is even more incompetent than we thought.
@shipwreckedcrew 3/ regardless of what Vorontsov may or may not have said in the June 2016 interview, Danchenko was already on FBI radar and the search of records by analysts in Dec 2016 ought to have turned up these records. If they didn't, then more incompetence.

fascinating new documents on Danchenko. courtlistener.com/docket/6163126… Scroll to 153.
wow. In June 2016 (!?!), Vorontsov, while attending a reception at US ambassador, was "whisked away" by FBI agents and interviewed about Danchenko. June 2016!!
3/ if Danchenko was already on FBI radar in June 2016, his identification as Steele's Primary Sub-Source by FBI intel analysts in late 2016 ought to have set off five-bell alarm in FBI. 🔥😡🔥

at present, Canadian media is non-stop sanctimonious moralizing about anti-hate but condones and even praises hate crimes against symbols of Canadian heritage e.g beheading of statue of Egerton Ryerson, an important and liberal figure in formation of 19th C Ontario Image
the supposed rationale for the symbolic beheading of Egerton Ryerson is the discovery of graves at a residential school in western Canada founded after Ryerson's death and thousands of miles away from Toronto.
the message of the beheading is hate and revenge. But the president of Ryerson University, instead of standing up against the hate expressed in the beheading of the Egerton Ryerson statue, eagerly accepted the hate statement. Re-naming university will be next.

while local private businesses in Canada are being eviscerated, the fattest and most indolent public sector in Canada - Canadian federal government - rewards itself.
I worked in Ottawa federal govt for a couple of years in late 1970s. Every building had book store so that employees would have something to read in the afternoons.
Largest section of federal phone book was Indian Affairs, which had thousands of employees who didn't seem to do anything useful. Since then, department has more than doubled in size and become less useful.

an extremely interesting graphic. I first became interested in climate from a smart "deep-time" geologist whose view was that we are still in a geological Ice Age and that climate zealots were merely a noxious variety of Creationist.
2/ not shown on this graphic is the development of continental-scale North American ice sheet in the Pleistocene. Abe-Ouchi 2013 convincingly explained NoAmer ice sheet as further CO2 starvation.

3/ Abe-Ouchi showed convincing explanation of 100 kyr Pleistocene cycle as interaction of NoAmer isostatic subsidence and Milankovich cycles. In Little Ice Age, there was incipient neoglaciation in the areas which had been centers of ice sheet spreading in LGM

I've commented several times that SIA Brian Auten, who's been under radar, had unique role in burying Danchenko evidence and puffs to Steele. Look what Strzok and Page said in October about Brian [Auten?].
2/ "if this thing ever gets FOIA'd, there are going to be some tough questions asked and a great deal of those will be related to Brian having a scope way outside the boundaries of logic."
3/ "[Auten] is one of the worst offenders of the rabbit holes and conspiracy theories. This guy traveled with that guy, who put down 3rd guy as his visa sponsor. 3rd guy lives near a navy base, therefore..."
