What this really does is absolve the American govt from having to do the same. Intelligence collection can occur via Canadian govt and csn ghen be shared with US officials, essentially utilizing an end around domestic spying laws.

They'll say they arent spying. And they wont be. Just receiving information that may be pertinent to national security interests from one of our closest partner nations and allies. Win-Win for both governments as it increases power consolidation and intelligence gathering efforts

Big loss for civil liberties and rights to privacy. No warrants will be needed for any of the domestic spying about to occur bc it will be a foreign govt acting in its own "national interest".

Canadian intelligence agencies will be able to gather and share as they wish and Americans will have limited to no recourse. Expect more of this type of lawfare to occur against people of Western Nations. Maybe we'll designate some Canadian or British group...

People keep bringing up 5 eyes. They are correct. This is within that same pattern and area of operation. What people don't tend to know about is how the NSA aids these programs and provides for them en masse. So lets cover that.

FAIRVIEW is an NSA Operation that has succeeded in owning the internet. If it happens, FAIRVIEW captures it. Think of FAIRVIEW an an umbrella term with many programs within it.

It's plugged into the main Internet backbone links/junctions of the undersea trunk/cable fiber optic systems. Nothing can get past it. Then there is BLARNEY. So, what is BLARNEY?

BLARNEY is an international version of the PRISM program that is so well known. Being international BLARNEY happens to be much bigger.

The NSA partners with USA telecom through FAIRVIEW. They partner with foreign telecom through BLARNEY. Together these two programs capture all of the technical data -metadata. So what captures the content? STORMBREW & OAKSTAR do that.

They capture the data at data centers. The collection of communications on fibre cables and infrastructure as data flows passed is how they do it. This is the physical set-up that is utilized.

This is what you would see in a NSA Black site room within an AT&T Data center. It's called a "Study Secure Room". It can also house a server specifically meant to be accessed by NSA foe this capture.

These are housed at AT&T’s 38 Internet Data Centers (IDCs). This is where that intercepted data is routed. If lawfare is the goal, these are the key sites the governments will utilize to spy on citizens. I expect this will be the NSA's contribution.
