Live now from Napoli (Neapoli/Naples), taken before the Giuseppe Carnevale Lampadedromia begins (within the next hour I believe). ImageImageImage
Hellenism is returning to Italy.

If you're not watching the live event from Napoli (Neapolis/Naples), why not?!

The event in Napoli (Neapoli/Naples) just finished.

Italy demonstrates that it is a place of tolerance and openness, and allows people to express their identity without persecution, lynching or prison - unlike in Turkey.

I'll continue posting clearer photos from tonight's Giuseppe Carnevale Lampadedromia in Napoli (Neapolis/Naples) as I receive them.

Hellenism is returning to Southern Italy thanks to Rome's tolerance of minorities and identity - Turkey should learn this.

"It is of particular privilege to be here on the two hundredth anniversary of your independence. It is therefore a statement of support, solidarity, friendship with Greece," the Indian FM said to the Greek PM.

A very interesting conversation ⬇️⬇️⬇️ greekcitytimes.com/2021/06/26/ind…
Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar looking swag in the suit and glasses (in meeting with Greek FM Nikos Dendias).

Although I do think he would look cooler in a Achkan or Bandhgala. Image
"I met with Indian FM Jaishankar. Greece and India share a long history of friendship, commitment to full respect of International Law & common will to forge new, strong ties of cooperation at all levels," Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias. Image

Dendias completely made a fool of Çavuşoğlu during their live joint statement.

Highlights that the Treaty of Lausanne affirms there's no Turkish minority, but a Muslim one.

Says if Turkey "wants" to join EU like it says it does, it must acknowledge UNCLOS.

More details coming.
Dendias said to Çavuşoğlu that "the only solution that is accepted by the entire international community is the bi-zonal-bi-communal federation of Cyprus."
Regarding Hagia Sophia, Dendias said: "We believe that such a reversal is in the interest of Turkey in general. Greece and Turkey are destined by geography to live together."

1) Terrorist apologist justify the attacks on France because of its 132 years of colonizing Algeria.

Greeks were colonized by Turks for 400-500 years, experienced a genocide (1914-23) with a million exterminated & a pogrom (1955) that expelled 120,000 Greeks from Constantinople.
2) This is not to minimize the Algerian experience of brutal French colonization but to highlight it's not a justification why "Muslims have a right to be angry & kill millions of French people,” as the former Malaysian PM said.

Does he support Greeks killing millions of Turks?
3) Now of course I do not support Greeks having a "right" to kill millions of Turks for the crimes of their ancestors like that idiot former Malaysian PM believes.

But terrorist apologists who use any attempt to justify terrorism in France open up an ugly pandora's box.

Today is Oxi (No) Day where we mythologize Metaxas saying NO to Mussolini's demands that Greece capitulates and becomes an Italian vassal.

Not only were the Italians thrown back into Albania from where they invaded, but the course of World War 2 changed because of Greek heroes.
My grandfather Nikos Papathanasiou from Skoteini village in Argolis was 16 years old when the Italians attempted to invade Greece.

He stole his brothers ID card to show he was of legal fighting age.

During the war and resistance period, he was shot 4x on 3 different occasions.
On reflecting how the Greeks fought against the Italian invasion attempt in World War II, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill said "Hence, we will not say that Greeks fight like heroes, but that heroes fight like Greeks."

When will Turks realize that Erdogan's bravado against Greece is to distract them from the bad economic situation.

While Turkish ships waste fuel in the Aegean attempting to do impossible seismic survey's, Greeks continue to drink frappe on the islands and watch the lira tumble.
Turkey's unemployment rate is currently 12.9%.

Unemployment in 2011 was 9.1%.

The 2023 target is 5%.

Erdogan is making Turkey go backwards but Turks are foolish enough to be distracted with hostilities against Greece
ahvalnews.com/unemployment/t…)%20reported%20on%20its%20website.
Turkish economist Mahfi Egilmez says an unemployment rate of 24.6% is “the closest to reality," and not the official rate of 12.9%.

BUT QUICK, LOOK AT US ATTEMPT TO STEAL GREEK GAS DEPOSITS, LOOK HOW BIG AND STRONG TURKEY IS NOW!

War of nerves now.

Will Greece keep Turkish ships out of their Exclusive Economic Zone as they promised?

Will Turkey backdown as it embarrassingly did a few weeks ago? I doubt Erdogan will allow that to happen again.

Serious escalation by Turkey that could lead to conflict.
7 Turkish warships are accompanying the Oruç Reis research vessel into Greece’s Exclusive Economic Zone. No word just yet on how exactly Greece will respond to this provocation.
The "meltdown" of the Turkish lira, as the professor correctly calls, is why Erdogan escalated hostilities with Greece today.

He is distracting Turks as much as possible from his own failures and corruption, and Turks are stupid enough to be fooled.
