Freeways in Detroit are "littered with abandoned vehicles" and 911 services are overwhelmed after 6.5 inches of rain fell last night.

Heavy rain is forecast to continue for the next six days.

This is not normal. We are in a climate emergency.

Detroit just experienced one of its worst flash floods in history.

In a stable climate, Detroit would get 5"+ of rain in 3hrs approximately once every 500 years.

But our climate is not stable.

In Portland, it just passed 100°F.

Today could become the hottest day in the city's history.

Tomorrow will be even hotter — 112°F. Hotter than it's ever been in Houston.

And all this is with about ~3°F of global warming.

We are in a climate emergency.

Currently is the weather service I've wanted to build for my entire life.

We're combining some of the best meteorologists with weather journalists that will contextualize everything from hurricanes to fires to a good beach day to climate justice.

Maybe I'm idealistic, but this is a service that should exist everywhere in the world, for free.

That's our goal.

But to get there, we need the help from members, early adopters, and those that believe that this is a moment for transformational change.

We need you.
I talked with meteorologists and science journalists today in New Delhi India, Biloxi Mississippi, and Madrid Spain.

To meet this moment in history, we need to build communities of people who believe a better world is possible and are willing to fight for it.

We need you.

Another day in occupied Minneapolis
Right now, the National Guard is staging in the parking lot of the recently re-built Target across the street from the burned-out shell of the Minneapolis PD 3rd precinct building.

A pedestrian walked by with his hands up and the National Guard just waved photo of two National Guard hummers in a mostly empty Target
