The ABC special left viewers with the impression that Ghislaine listlessly hung about New York after her father’s death until she was introduced to Epstein, & projected her paternal relationship on him.
That story appears to be at odds with the evidence.
ABC's special also leaves out key details about Ghislaine's father, Robert Maxwell, including his intelligence ties and his publishing company's use as a "Friendly Firm" in the USSR.
I will be surprised if the UK's Sky series mentions these facts either.
Correction: Epstein's Shadow premiered in the U.S. on NBC's streaming platform on June 24th.
ABC's special aired the next day (the 25th), on live tv.
(The UK premier is still Jun 28th, as stated).
I signed up for the free Peacock subscription; may watch it tonight.
I stand by what I said about the ABC special. The only new information in it are uncorroborated assertions provided by Maxwell’s attorney and family members; and it promotes a narrative that is at odds with the evidence.
IMO, it appears designed to engender sympathy for her.
Also, FTR, it isn’t news to researchers here that Ghislaine’s relationship with Epstein dates back further, or that she was the source of his contacts.
KochPAC was also the largest corporate PAC donor in the 2020 election cycle, to the representatives and senators & their affiliated leadership PACs, who would go on to vote against certifying Biden’s victory.
Charles Koch’s political groups and family members donated more than $15 million to the 13 Senators who publicly stated that they would object to the certification of the 2020 election results.
Everyone knows there is a $6K contribution limit to these funds.
If someone realizes their IRA is effectively contributing millions to itself, shouldn’t they go ask a referee whether they are breaking the rules?
The financial system incentives say “No.”
In most jobs, from construction to HR to CyberSec to intelligence, if I make a material mistake, I’m required to report it - but it’s in my *self interest* to. A lie has a shelf life.
But in our financial system, lies compound interest.
CBS felt a need to take that guy’s video, remove everything he said in it that was pertinent, replace it with egregiously dramatic music, and put their logo on it.
Way to contribute. Spicing up that disaster for your audience. Congratulations.
