Now, I understand that everyone is talking about the total lockdown and here’s the thing.
There is no need to rush to supermarkets to stock up food or toilet papers. These are essential services that will stay open.
We don’t need new clusters from huge queues at supermarkets.
Secondly, I was hoping that the Prime Minister would announce the total lockdown live instead of press statements.
You need some sense of urgency and empathy, at the same time give reassurances. The press statement itself is not helping.
Thirdly, address the shortcomings and concerns. As major economic sectors will be shut down, people who work on day jobs will have a shock, without any pay.
The total lockdown announcement without remedial support and assistance being rolled out at the same time. Wrong move.

According to Astro Awani, the termination of Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman as the chairman of Prasarana is confirmed with the Ministry of Finance.
A letter was circulated online, signed by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul addressed to the Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman about the termination takes immediate effect dated May 26, 2021.
An aide to the senior minister Azmin Ali, Dr Afif Bahardin who is also the Seberang Jaya assemblyman, tweeted the same letter of termination.
Watch with caution, the behaviour of the Prasarana chairman and Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman during the press conference after the incident yesterday. Look at how he berated foreign correspondents covering the presser.
He had the cheek to laugh?
The foreign correspondent from Phoenix TV China asked a good question about the concerns that there are many Covid-19 patients who are receiving treatment, and at the same time making sure that the victims from the train incident are safe as well.
Tajuddin: Where are you from?
Phoenix TV correspondent: China.
Tajuddin: China, no wonderlah.
That's really embarrassing seeing how Prasarana's chairman behaviour to the press.
Bernama shared a short video of the current situation inside the train coaches, with passengers sitting on the floor with broken glasses. Rescue mission is underway.
