So like 50 years ago there was a company called TSR and they basically made games for people who had fun being bored.
Then this dude Gary came along and was like "let's make a roleplaying game called Dungeons and Dragons"

So anyway TSR says "oh cool" and published it and it was a big hit and nerds loved it.
Fast forward 50 years and people are now looking at the original game like "wow that was pretty racist" and... I hate to break it to you... They knew it.

So much in fact that their main dude Gary went on record being like "this game isn't for women" and pretty much held firm on that belief.

For those that don't know by the way a "biological determinist" is basically boomer for "I can't get away with supporting eugenics openly".
It's basically that quietly racist "pure bred dogs are just better" mentality we already had a second world war about.

So anyway back to TSR.
They go out of business, for a bunch of reasons but presumably because they'd rather insult over half the human population, than make money or be decent.
They stopped making stuff and sold the rights to most of their profitable works. (i.e. D&D)

So after a year of players fudging rolls on zoom calls folks are like "hey let's get the band back together".
This would be great, except for the fact that they're trying to be "biological determinists" like it's 50 years ago.

That's right their aging fans that still rant about midichlorians and "all this P.C. stuff" are still around! Why are we just seeing them now?
They're luddites! That's right they play tabletop games and MAYBE have a Facebook account if they're especially modern.

They haven't had their beliefs challenged much and haven't had a reason to engage with the new actual community supporting the tabletop gaming industry.
They ain't fun. Play in six hour dungeon crawls, whack off to Conan The Barbarian, and fall for the "dermatologists hate him".

So where does this go? WELL it doesn't go anywhere unless we make it.
Tabletop gaming is an outlet of escapism for the disenfranchised. Not a lightning rod for bigotry and hate.
We forget the forgotten realms and all that "determinist" stuff still echoing from Tolkien's age.

Maybe the new big bad evil people are determinists themselves. WHO KNOWS?!
